I love this! But no. I don’t know who the dude on Mona’s left is.

I remember him…maybe from a religious painting?

I had to run a couple of errands this evening…

After I got back, I started doing a little research on this image…

And I… um…suddenly realised I’d been… you know… resting my eyes… for ..oh… I’d say a couple of hours.

But I can’t just go to bed and let it all go to waste, can I?

This was done by Romanian artist and photographer Dan Cretu , who also does some great photographs of unlikely objects he creates out of fruits and vegetables.

I tracked this down to his Instagram account… couldn’t follow him cos I’m not on Instagram myself…

But I did see that along with the expected names like Van Gogh and Vermeer, he had tagged this #Caravaggio.

So… I looked through some Caravaggio works…

By no means all, or I’d have been Googling all week.

….

I’m thinking this may be the young man on Mona Lisa’s left…as opposed to the “eary” guy on the left of her in the picture:

This face would have to be mirror-imaged to be the one, but it is very close. But I learned the kid who modeled for this was also used in other Caravaggio projects. So there may be an exact match out there, but I did not find it either.

Appears Claude is a cuisinaxenaphobe. Next stop, McDonalds, I guess.

I guess I have to watch High Noon again. That song will be an earworm until I do.

I am enjoying these uplifting (sometimes literally) videos in the #3 slot, Thanks Nightie!

“Cleo and Company” goes meta…

My vote would have been for Cleo to figure it out… maybe Clara, but never Claude.

Such self-awareness from Claude is like a snowfall in the Sahara.

….

Then again… I suppose they’ve been sitting underneath panel two for a long time, depending on when Nighthawks drew this strip.

Maybe it was inevitable that at some point one or the other of them would look up and see it.

How about that new Polish place halfway between Dennis’ place and mine? I hear they make great stuffed cabbages.

I live in a little yeehaw town in N. Idaho. No Polish places here. I am probably halfway between, though. The Polish restaurant must be closer to you Dennis.

I am determined to try my new pierogi maker this week. But it is 4 inches, so not typical size. And I have never been good at rolling dough. But I will give it a shot.

LOVE today’s videos! And, we just watched the entire “High Noon” movie in just over 2 minutes. What a treasure!

I especially enjoyed the clips of the generous folks helping other folks. Lots of lessons to be learned here.

Good going, Claude. Might as well reuse the panel since it is right there above your head. That way nighthawks can rest instead of having to draw the panel again.
Now I understand all those pictures people were doing with ‘fish lips’. That guy is ugly-mugly!
