This must have been prior to Cleo’s discovery and acquisition of bazookas, STS missile technology, and the like. Shame. She would have had it open in a jiffy. The contents might have been unidentifiable, but the package would be open.

Olive and Mabel are always welcome. They are such stereotypical pet dogs.
I once bought a computer mouse in a thick blister pack… not only impenetrable, but not much longer or wider than the contents, and the mouse itself was, as mouses tend to be, low and rounded, and impossible to grip.
I considered a hacksaw, but I couldn’t hold on to the package that steadily, and didn’t want to harm it, by getting too close with sharp implements.
I needn’t have worried, cos nothing would pierce that packaging anyway.

I finally found my heavy old tin snips, and cut closely alongside one edge seam, and managed to twist and pull the mouse out….
but I cut my hand on the sharp edge I had made.

I called the company and complained…
and instead of an apology or a coupon or a refund… not even a question about whether my hand was OK or I’d had medical bills (It was, and no) the rep on the phone said the packaging was necessary for “security reasons.”
She suggested I buy a special tool, which I didn’t know existed… it’s like a can opener but cuts through plastic.

I swore to never buy that brand again… and I don’t think I ever have…
but I can’t actually remember what it was….
All I ever see any more is Logitech or Microsoft, and I don’t think it was either of those.
I do know I’m not spending 20 bucks or so on a bulky tool to open something every couple of years.
If you’ve ever made/had a pear, peach, apple, blueberry, strawberry….etc. etc… pie, you’ve had roasted fruit.
You, I, and all the other normal people would usually have roasted fruit for dessert, but if you pretend you’re a vegan today — there’s your dinner (lunch if you’re in Saskatchewan).
It doesn’t say anything about roasting or having a roast on that calendar…
But it does say Kahlúa.

Starting on Tuesday, with three exceptions, all masking requirements and capacity limits will be officially lifted.
The three exceptions are hospitals (YES!), long term care homes (YES!), and public transit (WHAT ‽ ‽).
Sitting at a seat at any full pub/restaurant table, or in a seat in Rogers Place arena in Edmonton (capacity 18,500 for hockey) or one in the Scotiabank Saddledome arena in Calgary (capacity 19,829 for hockey) will seat people as close together for a longer period of time as the seating on any bus or light rail transit train in either city; but those venues are safe not to wear a mask in, whereas a transit vehicle, where your ride is not going to vary much, up or down, from an hour is unsafe. As I said; who’s doing the thinking?
I know air volume versus time will occur to you, but remember the bus and train doors are opening often and changing the air within the vehicles at least as fast as the air systems in any pub/restaurant or arena, and the “safe” distance will used-to-have-been six feet (yes feet / we’re Canadian, we don’t have to make sense when it comes to how we do measurements) on Tuesday.
The hospital workers and long term care workers need to ride the public transport to the hospitals and long term care facilities. They may be sitting next to the fans coming from the games.
