I’m so glad you enjoyed them! West Side Story is one of my favorite musicals. I had the music playing while I was working on the poster and I was surprised that I could still sing all the parts!! (not that anyonewould have enjoyed my caterwauling! LOL)
Indeed she is a star! And, she is starring in the 2021 remake as well…..at age 90! (She portrays a new character, Valentina, taking the place of the original character, Doc)
I remember reading about this incident when I was a student in Paris (although NOT way back in 1895!). It’s amazing that there was only one fatality when there could have been so many more!
First, thanks so much for spotlighting the lettering, Susan! I was so pleased with the job I did on it but really didn’t think anyone would even notice. I frequently have to create my own lettering when I’m unsuccessful in finding an exact, or even close, font to use.
Also……….geez, it never occurred to me that Georgie Chakibble is Greek. I always thought he was Puerto Rican. His portrayal of Boneardo Nuñez was spot on and absolutely deserved all the awards he received back then.
And, I love, love, love the lyrics to ‘I feel pretty‘ that you included! Excellent!!!

Having some experience with boilers, it is an absolute miracle that that one didn’t explode.

I figured the lettering wasn’t a font, but had to be hand built upon the pieces you picked up at Titles R Us..
a tricky task, when not all the right shapes come in the kit.

Sometimes it’s hard for human ears to get every word of the howling…
especially a high pitched howling voice like Marni Vixen, who, of course, was behind the scenes once again.
