Sounds like he was looking for bigger closets…. or maybe a mini storage unit.
Don’t they have those on his planet?
…
Maybe there are so many creatures where he comes from that there’s no room for storage units, or even walks in the countryside.
…
Well, Earth is going to be out of space too, probably in a few hundred years, if we don’t quit increasing our numbers, using up resources, and burying garbage.
I love One Bell.
The first time i heard it i was a kid.
That is one fantastic voice.
Also, when i was a kid, the first time The World At War aired on PBS it was required watching. I’ve had a fascination for the history of WWII ever since.
Not any other war, just WWII.
me too. when I grew up, every kid in the neighborhood had a dad that was in ‘the war’
my next door neighbor was a paratrooper—the gu across the street was a tailgunner in a bomber—I remember once one of kids got out his dad’s captured Swastika flag.
.
No saddle needed.
Just tuck him in between a couple of folds.
Great idea!!
“Bogie a bruiser? Nah! He’s just a big old softie.”
.
A Ray Harryhausen film?
He worked on so many.
Huh! That’s what the credits say!
An out-of-space creature invades the Earth?

Where will WE invade?
harrumph!
Astronomically speaking, that isn’t very far. twenty million miles won’t even get to Venus.
“Are we there yet?”
Why do they all look at his crotch?
The full horrifically terrifying movie is at the link (1 hour 22 minutes 32 seconds / as always, click through the clutter and go full screen).

What is it?
Title: “Shroom Oread” by Naoto Hattori
Oreads are mountain nymphs.
I love One Bell.

OK! Here we are… back on the Midnight Express….
as it chugs along through another day’s strip. Yay!
….
Murder on board!
Whooo hoooo… the engine calls… and the intrepid Sam Basset is on the job.
A corpse has been murdered?!!
Is he doubly dead now?
“They don’t call me ace detective for nothing.”
“No, I don’t suppose they do. How much do you have to pay them?”
Ba-dum TSSSH!
…
So…. Sam can tell that Candace is innocent?
What unerring doggie 6th sense tells him that?
If he’s right, though… and when is he ever wrong?…. that’s one down and… um… several more to go.
How many are there? We may not have seen them all in that opening sequence.
…
But we do have faith that Sam will solve this thing.
As Mrs. Slocombe was won’t to say… “I am unanimous in that.”
That’s why he gets the big Cleo and Company bucks.
uh…. Mrs Slocombe?
From Are you being Served?, the British sitcom.
Thanks Liverlips…
I knew not everybody would know who she was…
But I was sure somebody would.
I didn’t want to just steal one of her signature lines, without giving her credit….
Or giving it to her authors, anyway.
…
She also famously talks about her cat all the time…
Cluelessly referring to it as “my pussy.”
It’s a funny show, if a bit dated by now.
Bipolar bear?
I tried to read “The Betrayal of Anne Frank – a cold case investigation” by Rosemary Sullivan.
Not very good, not very good at all.
Even the pictures were boring.
Ace and it’s only a 4 panel toon….on to the next suspect
Good Monday morning Noir Phans!
.
.
Y’all have a great week. (((((HuGz!)))))
I’ll tell you who appreciates a good lineman; quarterbacks!
wow! we have an ‘ace detective’ in or story today! good ole Sam Basset is sure humble.
…
thanks for the Anniversary of the Doolittle’s raid video. what brave men! it is great seeing our history.
An interesting fact about the Doolittle raid, one crew landed in Siberia where our “friends” the Russians interred them for the remainder of the war.
