She looks like she’s dressed up for a special event, with the maribou on her hat, and that “fan”…
though I’d think a parade or a dance would be hard in those flip-flops.
That is a very dangerous thing for a hummingbird to do.
One sting is enough to kill it.
It’s far more dangerous with Yellowjackets. Yellowjackets will also go for sugar water.
It’s probably safer here because it’s just water they are going for.
Lovely photo. 🙂
Is Sam thinking it was the martinis that caused the murder? Is he subtly confessing that HE committed the crime in a drunken blackout? Or is it only that his hangovers are worse when awoken at 3:00 am to investigate a murder?
Whooo… whooo…. in the night…. a clickity-clackety sound…. And a low-whistled question…. whooooooo dunnit? Whoooooooo?
And it’s all aboard again…. for the mystery train…
The Midnight Express is still carrying us along, through the cornfields and the valleys… past the foothills and the stockyards.
Shining its beam indiscriminately into cities and out over the countryside…
Where it shines on … a MURDER… (gasp!) …..
and on ace detective Sam Basset, who attempts to draw it into the light.
….
The newly, but apparently not dearly, departed does not seems to be missed….
Not one fellow passenger has shed a tear upon learning of his perhaps NOT-so-unfortunate demise.
Not even sweet-faced Candace… certainly not Buck… and now, not Mr. Horne….
whose first name, we learned in one of those handy-dandy cartoon expository panels, is Myles.
….
But say…. that early panel showed us four passengers, not counting Sam, or the unmourned victim.
Only one is yet to be interviewed… the rather lame-faced Grace.
Tonight’s helpful voice says there are SIX suspects, including the porter.
Candace, Buck, Myles, and Grace. Four passengers, plus one porter…equals… 4+1=….
Wait, don’t tell me… NOT SIX!
…
Who else is on this train?
Surely the voice isn’t counting SAM??
COME ON… we know it’s not Sam… this isn’t our first murder mystery!
Sheesh.
…
Is it YOU? Did YOU do it??
CONFESS!
I mean…whoever’s reading this… YOU’RE on the train… if it wasn’t you….
.
“Eek! Tiny, get out of there! That flower is trying to eat you!”
Precious!
isn’t he the cutest?
,
she’s a cutie!
Precious!
This seems to be cute picture night.
She looks like she’s dressed up for a special event, with the maribou on her hat, and that “fan”…
though I’d think a parade or a dance would be hard in those flip-flops.
They might be somewhat traditional, though.
In any case, yes… she’s very cute.
,.
At least nobody is running with scissors.
Weird!
I just got chewed out by the program. It said I was posting comments too quickly and to slow down. Really!!
But that’s one I haven’t gotten… Yet.
And I can’t quite picture you as the speed demon of the comics pages!
It’s those new “silver” vitamins, isn’t it?
Well, I guess they are working!

I wonder if these guys are old friends. Hey, s’up? Meet you later in the garden?

Precious! What a most excellent picture!
Look out Perky, they will call you on the posts-per-minute speed limit.
One of the few things I’ve been fast at lately and they want me to slow down!
Are those …. ahem Burt’s Bees?

oooohhh…. i hate when my cross country train trip is interrupted by murder!
great animation, guys. i especially like the shadows as the train passes by.
thanks, but I see I made a mistake. the train itself should have cause a shadow.
cartoon physics. yeah. that’s it. cartoon physics.
.
that’s my story and I’m sticking to. it
you were all caught up in investigating this murder……….
I love to listen to the scientists on these clips joyfully nerd out. 😀
This is some great animation, starting with the train. But I really like the bent slamming door! Cartoon building materials!
Yesterday, usual place…
The look in his eyes says he’s plotting something.
They usually are.
Never! 😉
…minutes later…
Can you hear it?

THEN whoooooo dunnit?
You reminded me of this.
It’s a really good piece of music, well performed.
