Before the Bunnies, there was Birds.
Ive been fixated on them since i was a child.
That is awesome on so many levels.

15¢ and every broadcast available to your area could be found in it.
The last one i bought was just about useless for me.

To be fair… Back then there weren’t as many broadcasts in as many areas.

I once considered TV Guide almost essential, not because I watched so much TV, but because I watched so little.

There were sitcom reruns to watch at my dinner time, old movies at night, but I often ignored prime time, and worked on projects instead.

For 25 cents, at that time, TV Guide alerted me to things I might actually want to see.

But long before I lost reception altogether, I only got a few broadcast channels.

Then the proliferation of cable companies in my city and surrounding areas, none of which I subscribed to, and all with different schedules, made looking for my few options too much trouble, since I didn’t much care anyway.

By the very early 2000’s schedules were online, free, and easy to customise…

Who needs a magazine that in just a few years had gone from costing a quarter to about a dollar. A dollar is money.

Hard to believe (and kind of embarrassing, on a national scale) that for years, it was the most popular magazine in the country!

I gave it up, and didn’t miss it… not even what’s probably the world’s easiest crossword puzzle (unless there’s one in some children’s magazine).

That’s the reason it is the only crossword i have ever done on anything like a regular basis. 😀

LOL!

I truly meant no insult! I just happen to be a puzzle addict.

The ability to do crossword puzzles is the indication of… well… I’d say, the ability to do crossword puzzles.

Yes, spelling is involved, a trait that for various reasons, like lack of phonics education, dyslexia, or vision disorders, simply evades some people….

And I seem to recall your early user name including something like “noIcan’tspell”.

Perceptual disorders can also ruin crosswords, for example, some people can’t read vertical words.

I’m not saying you have any of that, only that there are many reasons.

I’ve had friends who were brilliant, voracious readers…. yet couldn’t spell, or couldn’t do crosswords, or both.

One of them, an avid reader of 19th century books, who critiqued the weaponry in historical movies, left a note on my door, years ago, that I recently found. It says “I will wate for you at the donnot shop.”

Another who comes to mind is an almost perfect speller and a crossword whiz, but barely finished high school 50+ years ago, and AFAIK still never opens an actual book, though he does read newspapers.

It’s not as connected as some people think, though I still believe early access to reading is important..

I was busy watching a movie. I also got all nine differences in just a few minutes. If my memory serves me correctly, I think this is a repeat.

I’m kinda tired tonight.
It was a nice day. I got the little monsters out on the sand for a little bit today. The first visit to a beach for Buddy. That was fun.
Good night people and pets.

I’m just happy to have it in the 60’s today. Not going on a picnic, though. It seems like there is constantly a lost dog notice on Facebook in this area. Can’t anyone keep track of their dogs????

I got eight at first. Everyone talked about getting nine, so I went for another look. As soon as I said ‘Wherefore art thou little difference?’, there it was! It helps to talk like Shakespeare.

Hey I’m in! I finally get all nine and WordPress kept crashing so I couldn’t log in. I started trying at about 7am, and I’m finally in at 6:15pm. I did the puzzle this morning before I’d scrolled down enough to see I wasn’t logged in.

The song Angel of the Morning has always been a favorite, but it’s the Merrilee Rush version that beats them all. Those sad trombones just make it a classic.
