The “I’m so Excited” mashup is fun. And I can almost forgive Nancy’s choreography for the lyric, “you keep samin’ when you oughta be changin'”

I wish i had a fenced yard. So the beasts could roll in the grass.

All the local shelters and rescue groups I found, when I was looking, a few years ago, for a dog, required a fenced yard before you could adopt, but new fences are not allowed where I live.

Ergo, I couldn’t adopt from any of them… not even a “special needs” dog.

That was an early movie for Leonard Nimoy.

Not to mention that it more or less got James Arness the lead in “Gunsmoke”.

and his acting in a small role suggested Fess Parker to Walt Disney for Davy Crockett…

Them ! ”     Leonard Nimoy isn’t even mentioned in the opening credits.

I saw it in an interview of him several years ago. It must have been bit part, or as atmosphere people.

According to Wikipedia, a small part, and uncredited, so it wouldn’t be in the credits at all, neither opening nor buried in the long closing ones.

It just struck me to ask if Scooby is related to Yabba Dabba.

But if so, then what are you going to doo?

Some fine, fun details in today’s installment. The radioactive telephone that watches you, Tick’s wagging tail, the bust of Marmaduke on the table.
(As a side note, you could consider Grimm for a future tip o’ the cap.)

I thought the bust was of Scooby Doo. Hence my comment above.
I never got into either of them, and thus misidentified Marmaduke as Scooby. Now, I know.

Not really. Although I do remember him running while holding a tire off the car he just chased, and saying (to the reader) “sooner or later, you’ll own generals.”

Oh… You mean Grimm the dog from “Mother Goose and Grimm?”

I dunno how many recognize him.

I was thinking you meant the Brothers Grimm, and it sounds like Nighthawks was too.

BatBasset is back, for exciting Episode Two!

Nobody, though, is quite as excited as young Tick, aka Sparrow.

Ready to leap into the fray, with all the energy of a basset just beyond puppyhood…..

But of course, Bruce, aka BatBasset (shhh… it’s a secret) … will teach him to use mature judgement, and curb any tendency to treat crime-fighting as a sport.

….

Better than going for a walk?

Really, Sparrow?

BatBasset, try getting out his leash, to see whether he’d rather hang out by the phone.

I bet he still sprints for the door, and that tail goes into high gear.

….

Speaking of maturity… with the aforementioned wagging tail and flashing telephone, a few years ago this would have been a Friday animation…

But “Cleo and Company” has seemingly matured to where these expert touches are casually added to a mid-week strip.

Nice job!

….

So… what will happen?

Nothing much before Episode Three.

We have plenty of time to pop more kibblecorn.

Any similarity in dance styles or tempi is incidental.

Thanks Happy³.

I’ll try to get over there to say hi back on tomorrow’s… but I don’t know whether he reads it every day.

Why doesn’t he come here? He’s not banned on Cleo!

I love the dance mash-ups. This one confirmed what I’ve suspected, there is not only clever dance clip selection, but also some very skillful speed manipulation. I’m pretty sure the scene from Young Frankenstein wasn’t that fast.

Tick makes a valid point about dinner. Filet mignon is unquestionably preferable to tuna hot dish.
