Quite possibly. The following quote….

But the lovebirds aren’t defenseless. To climb with their heads, their necks have to be about four times stronger per body weight than ours, and deliver bites with a force fourteen times their body weight. “If they get feisty and we’re not wearing gloves,” says Granatosky, “they can draw some blood.”

…comes from     HERE.     Their way of walking is interesting.

Amazing resemblance. Who’s the parent, and who the child?

Well, Missouri is the “Show me” State, so cutting the watermelon in quarters does show that it is indeed boneless.

Once again… magic.

Unbelievably, it’s solid marble.

The directed lighting helps… but parts of the drapery almost look transparent in this photo. Probably not in person… er… in statue?

It’s a detail of “The West Wind”, by Thomas Ridgeway Gould, finished in 1876, and displayed in Philadelphia for America’s Centennial.

Gould didn’t have Michelangelo’s mastery of the human figure… I mean, who did?

But his skill at sculpting flowing draperies from solid stone is amazing.

If you want to see the whole sculpture…

take a look

Here….

The picture is kinda huge. I wanted to show the detail… but I didn’t want it taking that much room.

Mrs Brown is an early stalker song. Creepy guy goes to his ex-girlfriend’s mother to tell her that he still wants her. Asks her to keep silent about his feelings. Shudder.

LOL… but it’s strangely true.

Thought about that way, the line “You’ve got a lovely daughter” almost sounds like a threat.

Well, I don’t know which is witch

witch might get me in trouble one of these days.

I only know some witchy advice…

….

Yes… I know this is a totally weird performance… but I chose it over the vids that merely showed a record or a record cover, because at least it is a performance… of sorts.

BTW… Maybe you’ve always thought this was an “Alvin and the Chipmunks” song… witch is wrong.

David Seville recorded it under his own (albeit fake) name, and it swept the country….(witch is kinda embarrassing in re 1958 American musical taste).

That was a year or two before he used the same recording technique to invent the Chipmunks…

Then “they” sang it… witch was still really him… Ross Bagdasarian, aka David Seville.

….

OH… and my apologies to those of you who find this song offensive and/or even think it’s cultural appropriation, of an offensively phony “culture.”

OK OK… I think it couldn’t be made or become popular today, for those reasons… which I do believe is a good thing.

But as a nostalgic flashback for a few people here… I think it’s OK.

YMMV.

If it does… sorry.

How can you call such deep philosophical lyrics fun?

Above I posted Heather Cox Richardson’s letter about the battle of Little Big Horn. I don’t know if it is viewed by anyone else. There is a message at the top right that says “Awaiting for approval” (bad grammar, WordPress). It was a rather long post. Nighthawks, Stel, any ideas?

It’s been a long time…

But in my experience, the 3 or 4 of mine that said “Awaiting approval” disappeared into the ether, and no one could see them.

At least one of them did eventually post…

I never would have seen it, had I not been looking for something else on that page, a few months later, and noticed it, because I’d successfully reposted the same picture, and now there were two.

I had no idea how long it took, or why one comment was OK, the other not.

….

I asked StelBel, back then, and she said neither she nor Nighthawks had anything to do with the approval process.

If you can still see it yourself, and read it… that’s never happened to me….

But I can’t see anything with that letter in it now.

Dennis said he tried to post comment that contained a historical letter, but when he submitted it, a message popped up from WordPress saying “Awaiting Approval”.

It apparently didn’t post, but disappeared…

So I just said that i never saw it.

That’s why you can’t, either… Unless it somehow gets approval from who knows where.

Also, that the same thing has happened to me before.

Hope that’s more clear!

thanks for clearing that up for me. there isn’t much room in my memory to ”await approval”.
