You can actually get more, usually, for vintage local postcards… especially views of beloved or gone-but-once-beloved local landmarks.

However, postcards of well known landmarks from tourist areas… like this one… don’t always sell for more in their local area, except sometimes to new tourists.
“Look, look… I found a 1905 postcard of this street!”…. right there in that box of 500 old postcards of Paris.

“French postcard” used to be slang for pictures of naked ladies… because there were lots of postcards from France with naked ladies on them… often not as naked as they’d be today.
If you have some of those they sell for a bit more.
And BTW in England, a “French letter” is by-now-pretty-quaint slang for a

I hate to admit I had never heard of this film… human or basset…..
but I can tell you now, exceeding even the usual comparison… the basset version is FAR superior to the copydog human one.

Bassets don’t know how to be frenetic… so their movie can’t move at the jittery pace of the human one.
And Bobby Townshound may be a bit roly-poly for a superhero…. but he’s a fine figure of a basset.
Since this is as much, if not more, of a comedy than a space opera…. he’s perfect.
All those napping bassets also slow down the pace, and give us a fine, gentle comedy about a mild-mannered obedience-school teacher thrust into he role of canine superhero.

It’s enhanced by a large supporting cast of well known and favorite performers…
Including Jimmy Earl Bones… even if you could possibly forget his many iconic roles… you can NEVER forget his voice …
especially as Dog InVader from “Basset Wars”.

And then add the mellow howlings of Luther VanFox.

Art is art, and no art should be suppressed…
But I understand why some art should be in museums, or other controlled venues, and not out in the street, scaring the horses, as the euphemism goes…
like, say, violent art… and pornographic art…
and maybe art that would scar a little kid forever, if she saw Superman,
fallen from the sky, with his head (sob) smashed into the pavement, right out on the sidewalk…
