Cute! Did these two grow up together?

They must have.

Funny thing is, if you didn’t know it were impossible, you’d wonder whether they picked up some physical traits from each other….

like the long, thin legs, high tucked abdomen, and in the last frame, the leaning posture.

You’d never think that the soft puppy in the first picture would grow up to have a body so much like a cheetah’s…

or that the little “kitten” would end up the bigger of the two, though it’s hard to say which weighs more, due to the cheetah’s light bones.

I wonder how fast the dog can run!

Their names are Kasi, the Cheetah Cub, born January 17th 2011at Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay and Mtani, a (then) Labrador Retriever puppy.
Here is a      LINK      to an April 12, 2012 article by Busch Gardens, and a 1 minute 36 second video showing them playing with a more detailed vocal explanation of their training.

If the cat to our right is similar to our cat (they certainly look pretty much alike!), then guess who’s boss. Poor dog.

As Perro whimsically whips his whetted whistling rapier (part of his practicing is slicing the cards in his fellow players’ hands as they play a game of whist) through the air with whippet-like speed, (even though he is a basset) it raises whirlwinds and whelms Perro’s wheezy opponents with its whizzing speed.

The very first recording of “Money (That’s What I Want) from 1959. I like it.
The first time I heard this song on the radio it was in 1979 when the “Flying Lizards” did it (and they did it after the Beatles / 1963 and the ‘Stones / 1964) somehow I missed all of the first three. It was written by Barry Gordy of Motown Records fame and Janie Bradford.

@ EVERYBODY ! !

I’m going to risk the opprobrium of some to post this U.R.L..
It is a link to the CBS recording of President Biden’s full 24 minute speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia tonight (September 01).

It never occurred to me to go looking for a “Flying Lizards” video. This is the first time I’ve seen it. The U.R.L. is now copied to my “U.R.L.s I Want To Keep” file.
Thanks for posting it.comment image

The Flying Lizards version is cool, but it only works as a satire on the original. The singer, admits that she spoke the lines because singing was harder. But it all works in the end.

At 82, he’s still recording and touring, and has a YouTube channel, which I’ve seen.

I just looked at his website…

He released an EP in July…

And he’s playing 18 different cities in what’s left of September, in various parts of the US and Canada.

The list only covered the first 20 days of October… during which he’ll play 14 more cities, in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Wow.

Cleomigos y Cleomigas!

¡Perro rides again!

OK, he didn’t actually ride again, cos he rode here on Wednesday… and he’s still here, comic strip time being muy elástico.

But it’s figurative… you know…
It’s a way to say his game is on again!

Speaking of which… his sword apparently plays whist. Very sophisticated. But we’ll cross that “bridge” later.

Perro is bold (see?)… he openly posts a challenge to Slurez, even while facing his henchmen by himself!

Well… “openly”… except that he does have a dinky little mask over his eyes.

Still.. I think it would be pretty easy for Slurez to recognise him, should he ever see him as Don Doggo.

Or will this be like Supermananother hero of whom Perro will claim no knowledge….

who had me tugging my hair in exasperation, as a child, when he’d walk right up to Lois Lane, supposedly an ace girl reporter, his only disguise a pair of glasses?

….

LOIS!! You idiot,” I would silently scream.

I didn’t know which of them was more frustrating… Clark, for risking exposure, or Lois, for not recognising Superman… the guy whose face she dreamed about in Technicolor.

I mean… the day I got MY glasses, I walked into class, and the teacher said “Hi Susan” .. she didn’t say, “Who are you?”

Even the bus driver and our neighbor’s 3 year old son recognised me.

But perhaps I digress…

Meanwhile…Perro wields his sword with such amazing skill…

he can totally cut a “P” in the backside of someone’s pants…

and the center of the top part doesn’t even fall out!

Mad skillz.

Absolutamente locas.

But he was pretty late for Wednesday due to DennisinSeattle’s birthday.

As for the top part: It seems still to be held by a few threads. And never underestimate the stickiness of cold sweat.

Sword play and a card game (panels 2&3)!

Good morning Perro Phans!

Transplant Doc was upbeat. Waiting on my dental clearance. I may have to tear up the office, but I’ll try being nice first.
Aaaaaand then preapproval from insurance (always something 🥺 ). This was the first time about this, but I understand that all the preliminary testing and approval from the transplant committee to make sure they’ll be able to do it before the request is submitted makes sense.

Y’all still keep your fingers crossed 🤞.
