…three items I posted on Monday; August 5, 2022
The original, popular version (1962), written (Geoff Mack / 1959) in Australia, of ‘I’ve Been Everywhere ‘ recorded by Lucky Star.
A video of rebel Civil War veterans giving the rebel yell.
And for contrast with the rebel veterans, Billy Idol’s ‘Rebel Yell’ written by Billy Idol and Steve Stevens
Susan has Elvis with “10,000 years” there, and Arfside has C.W. McAll and “Wolf Creek Pass.”
Happy’s Pop appears there too.
My rain gauge reads 0.48 inches at the moment, with possible scattered thunderstorms predicted the last I looked. Wind is about 6mph varying from SW to WSW and the barometer dropped from 29.94 (normal at sea level) to 29.86. This is in Diamond Bar, California.
Sure was. Not too bad, and I live up on a bit of a hill. The wind (such as it was) blew my pepperberry tree and the swings in the back yard, but that was about it. I think my anemometer showed a high of about 12mph from the ENE and sometimes directly from the east. My rock river and my wheelbarrow collected a bit of rain, but I was able to use it to water my plants during the shutdown caused by the broken pipeline.

The Padre should have this photo on his wall…. well, maybe he’d have to call it a painting…
cos…you know… color photography being what…. I mean, not being what it…. um.. wasn’t… yet.
But it goes with his decor.
Especially the rug.

Many people strive for a career in the arts, but still have to keep their day jobs.
So this fellow is very lucky….
It’s so great when painting can be your bread and butter.
Foul! That’s a foul. I’m calling a pun foul on you. Or should that be a “foul pun”?
Could be worse – and this is not the only one:

This reminds me of the “Last Day” scene in “Logan’s Run.”
A great film, with added bonus of cats! 🙂

For some reason he titled this “Kitchen Door.”
10″ × 10″ oil on board
Well… just a wild guess…
But I’d say on the far left, there’s a red door… kinda like this one, but not deep set:
So maybe it goes to the kitchen.
I much prefer the late Julius Pierpont Patches nickname for “Blue Swede,” “The Ooga-Chukka Singers.”
IMHO, Blue Swede ruint a good song.
Sorry.
Another song of which I seemingly missed the original.
Don Doggo is such a con man. This begs the question: Why is Slurez banging on the priest’s door to look for Perro? I smell a rat.
That carpet looks strangely similar to the carpets of Claude and Clara.
I’m sure I have posted the Aussie version of I’ve Been Everywhere before. A bit more complicated than Johnny’s.
Yeah, I remember… and I may have posted the Elvis version afterward.
If not, I wanted to.
The spoiler box contains…

After over two months here in Northern Oregon, we are getting our first rain. So far, my station has measured 6/100 of an inch.
WOHOO!!
It made the dust on the car pool into little dirt leopard spots.
maybe it’ll put out some fires?
If nothing else, the humidity and cooler temps help. A lot.
Hola Cleomigos! The adventure continues!
But today, Perro™ doesn’t even have to ride… cos trouble finds him!
Even in his identity as the somewhat cowardly Don Doggo… trouble seems to recognise him…
and it aims straight for his heart…. with… gasp! .. the tip of a sword.
¡Ay, Dios mio!
…
And el Padre said “heck”! You heard him!
¡Madre mia! Such a word is a bit strong for a priest!
Maybe he can claim innocence, not having a total command of English… or um… any.
…
When I was a child, I was allowed to say “darn” but not “heck.”
Why? Because they said so.
I’ve always thought they were equal degrees from meaning anything at at all.
And en español, from what I’ve heard, even little kids say “Dios mio.”
Then again, today’s little American kids text “OMG” with no thought to its meaning.
Dunno about a priest, though.
…
Meanwhile.. are we trusting el padre now?
He does seem ready to help our hero.
…
Will Perro™’s secret be safe???
We can only wait and see….
Comic strips being of an intermittent nature, as they are.
We shall have to ride with Perro™ on Wednesday… and probably beyond... to find out!

It’s a good thing that i’m eating breakfast right now.

was this part of that hurricane?
