Yes, there’s a “snap” at times in the rotation.

what about the wheel’s support’s reflection? the original support doesn’t have any cross-bars.

I’d say those lines aren’t meant to be cross bars on the support structure.

I believe they’re just drawn to show water movement or ripples — there are many more of them in the blue water, unconnected with the reflection of the wheel.

The artist probably should have tried harder not to place any where they coincidentally look like part of that structure.

This isn’t the whole painting. It’s by Australian Artist Graham Gercken, for sure, though.
Its title may be “Fallen Leaves”.

If this isn’t the original example of bubblegum, it’s close.

When I was young, I heard the term “bubble gum” music came from this group’s name:

Third quarter:
I’m not an L.A. fan, but they were robbed of an interception. K.C. went on for a T.D..

Fourth quarter 11:00 minutes:
K.C. interception against L.A. at K.C.’s one yard line run back for a T.D.

Actually just borrowing a line from the late Prince Phillip, of England.

Visiting the Great Wall of China, he reportedly said to his Chinese diplomatic hosts, “What a great wall.”

I used this as background music while doing today’s crossword; soothing. For some reason (probably because it has to be paid for / Andrews McMeel is a corporation after all), Sunday’s crossword can’t be reached anywhere on the ‘net but it’s here Monday through Saturday.

¡Perro rides! ¡Perrorides!

The game is afoot, mis queridos y queridas!

He is valiant, and charming… but is nuestro Perro™ too cocky?

Could it possibly be as easy as he expects?
Or (gasp!) are the naysayers and skeptics right?

Sooo many questions!

The Padre, for example… is he behaving himself with that money?

I hope he’s not in cahoots with the evil Slurez to trap poor Perro, in order to enrich the church coffers… or … ah!… to line his own pockets!

It’s the stuff of B movies, isn’t it?

In this story, though.. I don’t think so. Surely not!

Surely Nighthawks wouldn’t let that happen to the poor peasants!

(You ,,uh…wouldn’t…. um… would you, Nighthawks?)

And ..while I’m asking questions… . hmmm…. does Perro have a particular interest in Senorita Voluptuosa?

There’s just… I dunno… something about her… and something about her name… I can’t quite put my finger on it.

But Perromight want to.

Fernando, as ever, shows little emotion…

but his big basset eyes betray a certain… is it simply resignation?

Or is it sadness? Or worry?

I’d like to think it’s esperanaza…. hope!

Cheer up, Fernando… it all just might work!

I’m indifferent to pretty much anything avocado, but this avocado-on-toast thing….no, just no.

From:
”The Fannie Farmer Cookbook” (Twelfth Edition)

” Guacamole ” (Two Cups)

Guacamole “Don’t purée the avocados; an authentic guacamole contains small chunks of avocado. Serve with tortilla chips.” (quoted)

2 large ripe avocados
5 tablespoons minced onion
4 canned, peeled green chili peppers, chopped fine
1 clove garlic, minced
3 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Salt to taste

Peel and seed the avocados.
Mash one avocado in a bowl, and finely chop the other.
Mix the two with remaining ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate for several hours before serving.

OK, you guys know I don’t care about sports… but I just read this and have to share.

Recently a couple of us said here that we thought “Redskins” was probably the most offensive team name.

The Washington DC football team was called the “Washington Redskins” from the mid 1930’s until 2020.

….

That year, they finally retired “Redskins”, but couldn’t agree on a new name… so they played for two whole years as “Washington Football Team.” Brilliant.

This year, they finally became the “Washington Commanders“…. not a lot better, to me, but what do I know.

They’ve replaced the “Indian” head in their logo with a totally unimaginative and unattractive “W“, and of course needed all new team merchandise for this season… a big selling opportunity.

Apparently, their merchandising team was asleep at the wheel.

Just outside the stadium, their official souvenir stand/bus was selling brand new 2022 mugs, with just their W logo superimposed over a black silhouette map…

of the State of Washington.

Dennis, maybe you should get one. I smell future collectible.

If they haven’t broken them all and buried them.

That “W” is also the logo of the University of Washington. So I think we should buy up those mugs.

Hopefully at a huge discount.

97% off would be reasonable.

They’d lose money, but they will anyway… And it would save them the labor of smashing them.

Oddly, I’m taken to Instagram, not Facebook… even though the link SAYS Facebook..

There’s an admonition to log in, and I don’t have an Instagram or Facebook account….but the page works anyway.

A video of cute basset puppies, having a little trouble getting from the grass to the sidewalk…

And below that, lots of thumbnails of other basset pictures…
Those links seem to work too.

Go figure.

As one of the very few willing to admit to being a fan of Bubble Gum music I want to thank everyone for posting such music today.

Record sales show far more people into Bubble Gum back in the day than will admit it today. ☺
