No one in the comment forum contradicted this caption I found elsewhere.
It is the only caption I found but I I think its veracity is more than a bit suspect.
The comments are sometimes quite vulgar.

EGGS AND SCALLOPS SAUTÉ
2 cups small fresh scallops
5 tablespoons cooking oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 tablespoon soya sauce
4 eggs
1/2 cup chopped scallions, green and white
If scallops are large, cut in small pieces.
Heat oil; sprinkle salt and pepper into the hot oil.
Add the onions and cook till clear.
Add the scallops.
Stir and cook, uncovered, on low heat.
Dash soya sauce over them.
Beat the eggs lightly, mix with scallions; pour over the scallops and cook only till the eggs are set.
Serve at once. 4 servings.
Note: I looked at three versions but all had errors. So I still had to fix the punctuation and a few typos… hope I got it right, but it was definitely wrong before.

Looks like it’s in a wind tunnel.
My thought was water droplets… or possibly some weird kind of rays.
Wind sounds much better. More benign.
i see fish swimming.
Bugs?

For some reason this gave me a Ray Bradbury feeling.
Think,The October Country.
I don’t think I want to know what this is about.
It’s always the kids in the back row.
Funny!!
Do the bunnies have to sit in the back of the bus?
Will there be protests?
alfred hitchdog’s film ‘appearance?’

Always a winner.

His opponent.
Cleo doesn’t know the meaning of the words “spoiled rotten.”
On behalf, I’m sure, of many of us who are faithful readers of this strip…
I would like to ask Cleo whether, in spite of our obvious fondness for her,
we might have a list from her of all the things she is alleging to have done for the Clifford family.
….
It’s not that I don’t believe her…. not exactly, anyway….
It’s just that I don’t exactly… um… believe her, either, if you know what I mean.
Yes, I’d like to see that list, too.
Just as I thought!
Lol… At first I thought there was something wrong with your tag and I couldn’t see the list.
But yeah….
fried clams
Those are the strangest looking clams I’ve ever seen.
They’re scallops for National Scallop Day.
oops!
Yup… not a clam in the lot.
But it’s OK, cos it really is National Fried Scallops Day.
I’d love some, please.
oops!
Here’s a different take.

1935 Bugatti
That Betty Hutton song is cool… if you can hear the words, and you’re hip to 1940’s lingo.
It didn’t age too well without translation… which I’m not offering.
But I can offer you the untranslated lyrics, in case you’re having trouble making them out…. which I was.
Finally found a fella almost completely divine
But his vocabulary is killin’ this romance of mine
We get into an intimate… situation
And then begins this Romeo’s conversation
He says “murder”, he says, every time we kiss
He says “murder”, he says, at a time like this
He says “murder”, he says — is that the language of love?
…
He says, “solid”, he says, takes me in his arms
And says, “solid”, he says, meaning all my charms
He says, “solid”, he says — is that the language of love?
He says, “Chick chick, you torture me!”
“Zoom, are we livin’?”
I’m thinkin’ of leaving him flat
..
He says, “Dig dig the jumps!
The old ticker is giving.”
He can talk plainer than that.
He says, “murder”, he says, every time we kiss.
He says, “murder”, he says, “keep it up like this.”
He says, “murder”, he says, in that impossible tone..
Well bring on nobody’s murder
But his own.
…
He says, “Jackson”, he says, and my name’s “Marie”.
He says, “Jackson”, he says, “Shoot the snoot for me!”
He says, “Jackson”, he says — is that the language of love?
…
He says, “Mmm hmm”, when he likes my hat
He says, “tsk tsk” — what the heck is that?
He says, “woo hoo!”, he says — is that the language of love?
He says “hep hep with helium;
Now, babe, we’re cookin’!”
And other expressions, to wit:
He says, “We’re in the groove,
And the groove is good lookin!”
Sounds like his uppers don’t fit!
…
He says, “murder”, he says, every time we kiss.
He says, “murder”, he says, “keep it up like this.”
He says, “murder”, he says, in that impossible tone..
Will bring on nobody’s murder
But his own!

some of my favorite shows are on Acorn TV. The British call them ”cozy murders”!!
But in the song, he’s just using “murder” as 1940’s hipster slang for “great”.
i would only consume a tiny portion of Cleo’s list, like bacon and an egg……..
Me,too. But, it does sound good!
Me too. Kibble goes straight to my butt.
Good morning Cleophanatics!
Too funny!!!
Does that make you wag your tail?
