Brrrrr

The 30mph winds outside (gusting to 50) are appropriate background sounds for this picture. Our temps are also <10°F.

We’ve seen this fish-stealer before!

Now he’s robbing the fish market again… on Christmas Eve.

Bad Kitty!

I like to think he’s only doing it cos he’s out of work, but he still wants his seven kittens to still have a good Christmas dinner.

That’s right, isn’t it?

Please say yes.

I wonder where this is…

You can’t sell unrefrigerated fish outdoors, from an open bin, in most places in the US any more.

Plus the two and three wheeled transport, and rough, narrow street, with a brick curb cut, kind of look like elsewhere.

But who knows. Someone will tell me it’s New York City.

Hah… you see what you get when you see a complicated picture and suggest that it be a puzzle?

Your wish was StelBel’s command.

I’d tell you who it was who suggested it, so you’d know who to blame, but I don’t remember.
And I’d look back and see, but I don’t remember what day it was, either.

Anyway, what if it was me…. you wouldn’t blame me…. would you?

LOL

Anyway, it was fun to solve, so I don’t actually “blame” anybody.

Ohhh… I suppose since I’m here, you want me to post the solution.

Have you solved it?

I hope so…. I can vouch that there are nine differences in there.

Give it a whirl…. and another, if you need to.
Don’t be intimidated by the clutter… just compare one little area at a time.

Try as hard as you can… it’s Christmas Eve, and Santa is watching.

Now, don’t be worried… Santa never expects perfection.
I get the feeling he was never a straight A student himself. Always distracted by toys.

He only expects you to do your very best.

After that, he won’t mind if you compare your solution to mine.

BTW… my circling squares are rather thick, because I wanted to use Chistmas colors, but was having a hard time making them show against all the rest.

Some of them actually highlight a difference, and make it easy to see… while others had to cover a bit and maybe almost hide it.

….

So once again, let me remind you, that if you can’t quite see what’s going on inside the circles, or see the difference, while looking at my solution….

Be sure to refer back to that spot in the original puzzle, in both panels, to compare without my circle getting in the way.

I am stunned that I found them. I figured I was doomed with the level of detail in this image.

I felt the same way, seeing the whole image.

But when I started actually comparing small areas, looking for the differences… boom!

There they were.

I only found 6.
I remembered that someone had requested a more realistic picture be used (I believe the complicated picture that spurred the discussion was a photo). And, Susan, you did not suggest it; you posited that changing such a complex scene would be very hard. I do not remember who it was that requested it, but I hope their chestnuts get roasted on an open fire!

Oh my Dog, he did it! He made a FTND puzzle out of it. And quickly too. THEN followed it up with another “intact” original FTND image.

Ronnie was a kick. I enjoyed her appearances on Cousin Brucie’s show in the 2010s.

Always enjoy the puzzles, love the Ronettes, and envy the warmth of that fire where Cleo is roasting her buns.

Great job on that animation!

(Of course I had to compare it with last weeks puzzle, to see which panel was “correct”.)

But I can’t figure out, with all the Beatles videos there are on YouTube, why we’re listening, instead, to some guy named Matt Sullyrock (I looked on the YouTube link) try to cover a John Lennon tune….

Coincidentally one that Lennon himself professed not to like, even when he sang it himself.

I take that stuff with a grain of salt though… the Beatles were very hard on themselves in that way, always criticizing their own music, as though they couldn’t understand their enormous fame.

Oh… and for Bambushie

I finally looked at the picture again, when I was solving tonight’s puzzle, maybe at just the right angle… and I think maybe I saw the “cat” you were asking about..

Perception shifts, I guess… I couldn’t tell what you meant that day.

If I’m right, you saw a big light gray or white cat, lying down right outside the top left window… but there’s really nothing there for him to lie on.

When the picture is small, I can scrunch my eyes and see the cat…

But when the image is enlarged, you can see that it’s actually a combination of the frost on the windowpane and a hanging tree branch outside:

And when I was teasing that day about a sixth cat… It’s not a spoiler, so I can tell you now…

I thought at first I’d found seven cats, in fact, but it was pointed out to me that the seventh was a shoe (great job, Susan!)…

The big red hanging lampshade is blocking our view of the end of a shelf above the stove… a narrow shelf, with copper things on it.. I think little pudding and jello molds.

Lying on that shelf, past the copper molds and just to the left of the lampshade, there’s a fluffy tail… I think there’s another cat there, but his tail is all we can see.

LOL
