Get MMM some ear-plugs if necessary – but at least trying to sing would help you both physically and mentally!

““Peanut Brittle” A light, porous brittle.
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon margarine (I use butter)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups raw Spanish peanuts (see Note)
1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions for recipe
Put first 4 ingredients in saucepan over medium heat and stir until sugar is dissolved.
Add peanuts and cook, stirring 15 to 20 minutes, or until peanuts are a light golden brown (296° F. on candy thermometer).
Remove from heat and stir in soda (mixture will foam). Spread quickly on well-greased baking sheet.
When cool break in pieces. Makes about 1 1/2 pounds.
Notes from me:
Raw (unroasted) peanuts are available in nut shops, health-food stores and occasionally in supermarkets.
I’ll try that this weekend.
Getting the melting temperature is the tricky part, and something I’ve never been really good at.
I have an induction cooker and a really good non-stick frying pan so maybe I can make it work.
I’ll report back Monday, but (if I’m successful) like Perky’s Christmas fudge, (how did it go this year?) it will probably be at even my outside limit for sweet.

When I finally read the books in order a few years back, it struck me that Fleming had written Bond as a bit of a klutz. Without Felix Leiter, he would never have accomplished anything.
Then the movies came along, and turned him into the character most people know today; not a bad thing, I enjoyed watching all of the ones I watched (including George Lazenby’s “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” / weird, I know) there were a few I missed due to circumstances.
But as I said, the franchise has reached its end point.
As a side note, I went looking for “No Time to Die” because the “Quantum Leap” reboot went back into hiatus apparently because of the NFL play-offs.
So episode 11 isn’t airing until January 30.
IMO, “IHMSS” was one of the better ones.
I’ve seen “From Russia with Love” at the movies back then when I was an early teenager and the others starring Sean Connery on TV – Fun to watch, but I liked the parodies even better. “Casino Royale” with David Niven, Woody Allen, Ursula Undress 😉 and others.
Anyone familiar with “Derek Flint”?
I was never a big fan of either the “Our Man Flint” (James Coburn) or the “Matt Helm” series.
But one scene from the Matt Helm series that I still smile about is this one with Dean Martin as Matt Helm.

There’s one negative, possibly even fatal, effect of some people singing that’s not mentioned on this poster.
Perhaps if you sing, you’ll have positive reactions.

If I were to go around singing, I know from experience that I’d be terribly hurt by the winces, groans, and other reactions I’d elicit…
and possibly physically injured by the thrown objects, and even by forcible attempts to stop me.

My problem is that, while pianos have white keys and black keys, I tend to sing on the cracks between them.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t have a clue, whether I were the listener, or doing it myself.

It apparently used to be mostly a children’s game, breaking out designs halfway stamped into the round candy.
In the show “Squid Game”, which I’ve never watched, grown people had to win it, or be killed.

I love how the world’s most lenient dog-parents just sit there, watch it start to unfold, and let it happen.
