I think it is Campion’s own creation for this artwork.
I looked, but could not find any evidence of his having painted it as a separate work.
It is a measure of Campion’s talent and skill that the subject is easily identified.
This painting is oddly reminiscent of those “What’s wrong with this picture?” puzzles.
It’s full of oddities or anomalies. Some may just be artistic license, but once I noticed a couple, I couldn’t help seeing more.

First thing I noticed is all the VHS tapes, and the fellow seems to be watching “ET”, but I see no player anywhere.
The artist has carefully drawn the wires for the TV and lamps, so I’d think we’d at least see the wire to a VHS player or VCR.
(Yeah, maybe he’s watching cable, but there’s no cable box, either…. and maybe he’s streaming it and we can’t see his remote… uh huh. But he has open tapes.)

It appears to be snowing, unless those are very strangely placed stars outside the window.
If it’s cold, and the heat is on, that is probably not a good arrangement!
And the snow or stars are strangely arranged outside the bottom pane as if they’re trying to spell something.

It also seems odd that the bathroom door opens right into the living room, and he’s lying on the floor with his head almost in it, and his TV tray right next to it.
The rack with the bath towel is squeezed into a tiny space between the sink and the wall.
Nitpicky, but I don’t think the lampshade fits, either, where the floor lamp is pushed into that little corner behind the tray.

Anybody recognise the picture behind the lampshade?

– Or maybe the radiator isn’t turned on (or only on low), that person has just taken a shower (being in the jammies) and wants the warm, humid air to escape from the bathroom
– I don’t think that’s a tiny space – and that wall seems to be the door to the shower; the best place for the towel.
I’ll add to your list, Susan. Look at the height of the sink and compare it to the height of the tray table. Even accounting for parallax , that basin is twice as high off the ground as the table top.
most of us in the US have no idea because we’ve never heard of a “Trafficator arm”.
Pretty sure I’ve seen them in movies, and recognised them as turn signals, but they were mostly old black and white films, so I have no idea what color they’re supposed to be.
Don’t they stick out of the side you’re turning towards?
We just have red indicator lights in the rear, on the appropriate side.
This seems to be an English puzzle. The car has an English plate and is driving on the left side of the road, so the steering wheel should be on the right.

The building on the corner across the street has no windows facing the street where the car is headed.

I’ve only seen a Piper Cherokee (what I think are on the poster) fly in formation once. It was a tight formation with the Cherokee leading a Beech Bonanza. It looked great until the Bonanza pilot decided to land in formation (something you won’t even see the Blue Angels try). The Cherokee touched down first and slowed; the Bonanza tried to hold his relative position while still in the air. He slowed too much, the nose dropped and he went crunch. From what I heard later, the passengers were fine, but the 60+ year old pilot suffered spine compression.
There are four illustrators’ short biographies in this video, and their works are all spectacular.
I’ll be watching it again later to read some of the pages the illustrations were made for, and to try to find some of the pulp magazine authors Hugh Joseph Ward (the last biography) illustrated.
I’ve finally finished rereading (read in 3 days / I kept putting it off through four renewals, and it’s now 6 days overdue ) “Day of The Triffids” by John Wyndham.
Written in 1951 (Sputnik was Friday, October 4, 1957) Wyndham wrote about satellite weapons in space, and genetic engineering.
It is well worth reading (or rereading) even today.

Aha! Much internet trouble tonight… among other things, after refreshing and refreshing, this page only partially opened, and wouldn’t give me a comment box to type in.
Not even clicking reply under the two or three pictures I could see opened a field to type in.
The spoiler boxes wouldn’t open, and I don’t think my “likes” worked either.
It was no better on my tablet or my phone, though other days, that’s been the solution.

Finally I closed my open windows and rebooted… and by only having ONE window open… voila! I can type. Let’s see whether I can post.
No wireless on my computer yesterday (the device was still there, but the driver missing after a slightly faulty kernel-update). Updates from the shell or the automatic updater – wireless, of course; and I have forgotten how to change that. No; restarting the system (that’s the first thing I did) didn’t do the trick. Not even after cutting off the power plus removing the batteries. Wired connections still worked.
Fortunately, the Synaptic Package Manager is user-friendly enough to let me change the preferences for internet-access to “manual” that I could reinstall the missing driver-package. Restart – and no internet at all. Sigh.
Reboots from an older version took forever and froze sooner or later (before and after), but finally, it all worked again. (Fingers crossed).
I use Windows, not Linux, so I don’t have a synaptic package manager.. and a lot of manual access has been lost over the years to automatic Windows processes.
Can be good or bad… easier if working, bad if you want to override it manually.
And my still “new” to me laptop (2021) has no ethernet port.
All internet access is wireless from my modem.
The modem does have wired output, so I could buy a usb ethernet adaptor and tie up my only currently free usb port.
The slowness isn’t between my computer and the modem, though, so I haven’t done that.
Gotta love that 14″ (give or take) Claude has no problem jumping up and down and yelling orders at 5’2″ (more or less) Clara, or even 15″ Cleo.
Yeah, yeah, it’s not drawn precisely to scale so I can’t be exact. It’s a comic strip… it has comic proportions!
In any case, he seems to think they need to listen and obey, instead of standing there looking amused.

Kinda reminds me of dogs I’ve known… like the little chihuahua who had no fear of any of the neighborhood ruffians… the canine ones, I mean.
She’d bark through the fence at the doberman next door and unsuccessfully demand his treats, and try to chase the Labrador she lived with to get him to play, which he ignored.
I would think that Claude’s lifespan might be increased due to his smaller size and therefore much lighter weight. on the other hand , it’s going to be tough to find a
doctor that treats geriatric little tiny folks

I’m not worried about the window sill getting hot.
If it’s snowing, which of course it night not be, that radiator is HOT, and would melt the television.
You’re never supposed to put anything on top of a built in radiator.
In fact, in many small, old US apartments, the tenant has no control of the heat… The superintendent turns all the radiators on or off together.
The sill the TV is sitting on is above the radiator.
It looks like a map of Japan. That would explain the cramped apartment.
And, it might be one of those VCR playing TVs that started showing up just before the demise of the VCR.

Of course it could be, but when you’re putting something off kilter into a puzzle, for people to find,
you’d usually contrast it with the ordinary, to highlight the difference, not with a rare exception to the rules.

Wouldn’t he realize that if Clara pushes the button she might shrink to his size?? If that be the case, I don’t know what the solution would be.
Then Cleo pushes it, and shrinks too.
Now she’s short enough for Claude to climb on her back.
He then lifts Clara onto his shoulders… It’s like in the Grimm fairy tale, “The Musicians of Bremen”… so she can in that way reach the button.
It’s like a toggle switch… This time it makes them all tall again!
