Don’t you worry, little brother… We’ve got your back.

Ok, at least your sides.

Help? 😀
The little guy will stick his nose in daddy’s ear at least once. The ultimate wet-willy.

Here is a     LINK     to the full comic.
You’ll have to scroll each individual page to read the stories (and be careful to put your cursor exactly on the “next page” arrow), but the resolution is good.
I read “The Uranium Underground”, and that was all I could take of the characters (the word “insipid” comes to mind).

You and me both!! We did retirement all wrong. We should have bought a house – or at least a motorhome – to spend winters some place warm.

If we’re talking about the same thing, I think the wire(?) that holds the flat ring is V-shaped…

It’s attached to both sides of the can.

The other part kind of blends in with the leaves behind it in this picture.

My solution
There’s no holes in the sprinkler head for the water to come out.

Three possible
1) no holes in the head (though the fill style makes it look like lots of miniscule holes)
2) the spout is off center
3) the hoe is flat (though if it’s an edger, it’s OK)

I totally understand, Cleo. That is me when I am out in it ~ which is as seldom as possible! And snow is snow ~ barely or otherwise!

Your assessment of his skills in explaining things is accurate, but I have to break this down into sections because of that really annoying background noise (I refuse to call it music).

And Cleo’s outfit looks warm and comfy.
Maybe she should have worn her blinking Christmas-sweater fo better visibility in that blizzard? ;-D

Hey, I get it… I’m with Cleo.

I can relate to that Peary dialogue when it’s 43°F on a cloudy day… and especially in all the actually just below freezing nights we’re still getting this winter.

It’s supposed to be 26°F tomorrow night. Truly a nightmare on ice, no? Even though the lowest temp is usually for about an hour. Around 6am.

I know it doesn’t sound cold to you sturdy Eastern and Midwestern types … but it’s all about what you’re used to.

Where I live, in Northern California, we’re used to a few overnight hard freezes a year, but this year we’re getting that many a week, except when we had those torrential rains for a few weeks.

Besides, our houses aren’t all well insulated, and we don’t even own winter jackets.

When I lived in Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin, growing up, I could play outside or go for long walks in the snow. As teen, sometimes I rode my bike to school on icy winter days.

And of course no respectable teenage girl at that time would be caught dead in a warm hat like Cleo’s. A loose scarf maybe... like a knit muffler in school colors pulled up over your head. A knee length skirt and bare legs.

50-some years of California later, I look back at that cold-tolerant young girl, and think “Who is that? Did I know her?”

When I first moved to Idaho, I had sweaters and sweatshirts ~ no coat. Got coat, scarves, gloves, hats ……. I’m still not sure how to do the scarf thing and I don’t like wearing a hat ~ no matter how cold. 34 degrees here right now going way up to 35. Then next week we will be in single digits at night. Will this winter EVER end???

It would be ok with me, I guess

If my house had great heating and insulation, and I had lots of flannel nightgowns, warm robes, and sheepskin slippers…

And I never had to go outside till spring.

Otherwise…noooooo.

It looks delicious… I love chocolate mint ice cream.

But please… No fresh mint leaves, and keep all that fudge syrup INSIDE the cup.

I hate this cute thing of dripping sticky stuff on the outside, where you can’t eat it and it makes a mess.

Don’t waste my chocolate!

Yay! A new dance mash-up. Good think the women in those throws were wearing flats, they could never have stuck the landing in heels.
