our mountain blue birds have attracted the ‘paracitic’ black birds today. they are trying to break into the blues nest for a free ride. sure hope the blues can keep up their defense.

It has always seemed obvious to me that if you pick up something far away, where it’s small, and don’t look at it again till you set it down in front of you, it will be big.
Like, say, a car from across the street where it’s smaller than your hand. Just reach out and pick it up, and set it in your driveway.
If you watch it the whole time, it’ll stay small, like a toy car, so don’t peek.

Did you notice that Snidely Whiplash tied Dudley’s left finger in the knot and it was his right finger in the next scene and then back to left finger when he’s talking to the inspector?

I don’t know which is more flashy… the red feathers and blue chest, or the incredible white tail.
In fact, I thought maybe they weren’t even the same species, so one of them was not a parent to this brood.
But their heads are alike, and the mother would never tolerate an alien visitor, so I have to guess that dimorphism is strong in these birds…
And that Whitetail is probably the papa.
