Does anyone have a way to get in touch with — Perkycat ? MontanaLady drew our attention to her being missing on Saturday, the 13, and I went and checked.
She last posted on GoComics on Saturday, the 6th and here on Sunday, the 7th (this month).
I’m wondering if it is another “Katina Cooper” situation; I hope not.
Katina was still posting as a “guest” for her last comment, almost two years ago.
She hadn’t shared her email address, location, or real name with anyone here, so we had no way to contact her.

Most of the commenters here are “members”, not “guests”.
That means that an email address is on file with Nighthawks and StelBel, though they never share it and would rarely use it for anything. It’s just part of WordPress registration.

In addition, most site users have also given me their addresses, and are on the party invitation list.
Not everybody wants a party who wants invitations… I honor those requests, meaning I have addresses for a few people who don’t have parties, as well.

All this to say that of course we can contact Perkycat, and most of the users here.
Please don’t stir up memories of Katina, just because a regular here is gone for 5 days. It’s not the same situation at all.
You can always suggest that we email them… but jumping straight to tragedy is unnecessary.
Of course, someone can disappear without answering an email… but at least we have a shot.

To everybody… BTW… a few of you still wish to remain guests… I’d like to remind you that we have no way to find you in this sort of situation.

I just want to add a question: did we ever really have confirmation that a tragedy befell Katrina? If not, then perhaps she just decided to forego comics sites at that point.
I do agree with Susan that we shouldn’t jump to conclusions. There are so many different reasons to account for people who don’t show up. And, although Cleo and Company have many email addresses, for some reason, we never did get all of them. Another WordPress glitch, maybe.
Yow! That’s painful just to read about. I’m glad to hear your daughter is there to help out. Sending good wishes for all. And that includes Perky and her husband too.

Yes, I didn’t mean that tragedy necessarily befell Katina, but that posts like this stir up fear …
And push the idea that tragedy may be the only reason anyone has gone missing, including her.

We do tend to worry about Katina, because she never came back to Cleo or GoComics after saying one day that she felt ill.
It was during the worst of the pandemic, which was putting people in that mood.

But who knows… she had also posted not long before that she was changing jobs and hoped she had time for the comics.
Actually, I came to say I wrote to Perkycat a few days ago, when I hadn’t seen her for 5 days.
As I said to her, some people come and go for that long, and I wouldn’t worry, but she’s here every day.
She just replied… she’s okay, but her husband is in the hospital. It’s serious, but he’s expected to recover.
Her kids are with her.
I won’t give more details until/unless she gives me permission.
i haven’t posted today because MMM had surgery today and our daughter is here from san diego to take care of both of us!
