He kind of set the style for magazine illustrations, and also painted some famous murals, including huge panels depicting the history of California inside the Los Angeles Main Library, which I once went to just to see, on a trip to LA.

Yet he isn’t remembered or heralded like Rockwell or Leyandecker… not is his work as instantly recognizable.
I’m no trained at critic, but I think that might be because it’s more straightforward… it illustrates the story or the product, without displaying his own personality or “signature style.”

And why does it look like he’s holding an ice cream cone?
I doubt that’s what it is… And it might be something behind him.

Hello all. A message from me to my friends here who also inhabit the Ten Cats page over at GoComics. I got banned from the comments section, GC haven’t bothered to inform me of that fact, they just removed all of my posts and blocked me from posting. I know it’s due to the troll flagging one of my daily posts, but, as I said, GC Mods haven’t bothered to inform me.
In truth, my daily posts are in breach of the Comments policy over there (Rule 6 – No offsite links) but Bob (Bbear) and myself had an agreement as long as we didn’t go stupid with them and confined the links to one post (Not one post for each link). If I get unbanned, I won’t (Can’t) start posting the daily cats links again, as I can virtually guarantee that I’d get banned again fairly quickly. It’s a shame as we have quite a good community going over there, but comments policy Rule 6 applies. Someone did ask the question “Why doesn’t he create a new profile?” Comments policy Rule 8 applies in that case. I’m not saying I won’t create another profile, but I can’t do it using my normal email address, or username.
In answer to bambushie from yesterday; I’m not on FB, so I can’t post the pictures there, and I don’t have any intention of joining that data harvesting site using any of my main computers. The only way I would is involved as it would mean obtaining a laptop to keep as a standalone device, and put it on it’s own subnet on my home network so it couldn’t ‘see’ any of the other computers or devices. I’m not paranoid (I know it does sound like I am, but truly I’m not. Honest!!!) but I don’t like how FB and a lot of those type of sites mine data from any connection they can find on a network. Having the computer isolated also means all file transfers must be done via removable hardware, and I would probably run some flavour of Linux on that laptop.
I’ll try to be more visible on here in the meantime. Thank you all for your concern.

I was on FB for about a year around 2005…..I ended all association with it when somehow the email addresses of everybody I was in contact with received bogus
offers for some service that I had never heard of IN MY NAME. the email were
written as if I was endorsing this bogus product/service and was encouraging them
to invest in it.
even after all these years later , they are still sending me emails with my niece’s name attached to it , inviting me to click on it…..(all phony–my niece knows nothing of it)

From the very first visit to Ten Cats, I enjoyed your photos and video links a LOT. They added so much value and enjoyment to that community that I made it a point to look at your post(s) first (a lot of the time, I start reading comments from the bottom up). I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into finding and sharing them with the TC comment readers.
It was because you posted info about the Go Comics bookmarklets, how to use them and where to get them that I downloaded them and use them every day. Thank you so much.
I e-mailed the GC moderator and filled out the GC Contact Us form asking that your account be reinstated. Some of the other TC commenters have as well; here’s hoping we’ll see you again at Ten Cats. If we don’t … living well is the best revenge! And remember you are very MUCH missed at Ten Cats.

It was on a Cream album that had ‘White Room’ on it. I still have it. Back in the ’60s, I played it over and over. It was not a “bump” to me. I came across it on YouTube, and it just brought back memories. And, to me (and quite a few others on YT), it is a song.

After over a year, I’ve put in an application to adopt a dog from the local animal care center. I met her briefly last week and applied. Went back today and got to spend about 15 minutes playing with her outside. With a bit of luck, I’ll have her by this time next week. The bio says she’s 4, but I’m thinking younger, maybe 2-3.
