The picture obviously tells a story… It might even be a magazine illustration.
The problem lies in figuring out the plot.
As I said to Happy³ … I think the terrified cat, who is directly and indirectly wreaking all this havoc, escaped from the veterinarian in the white jacket.
She ran into the street and he’s chasing her.
A little too much mayhem to be a merely decorative painting…
I hope that, even though they’re all the same color, these are four separate steeds, and not just one fickle palomino pony, who’s just horsing around!
…
The first one doesn’t seem to mind that his girlfriend is one-legged. She’s his mane squeeze, every since they met at the hobby shop, so I hope she’ll stick around.
….
The second one is head over heels for that pretty pink pony.
His friends said he was off his rocker… but I’d rather think it’s that she really rocks his world!
…
Number three got carried away by a Spring romance.
The bounce in her gait gave her the jump on every other mare.
They met in front of the drugstore, so I had assumed she was a quarter horse, but I don’t really see any signs.
I hope for his sake she’s free!
I’d hate for any change to come between them.
….
The fourth one wanted a stable relationship, so he picked what he thought was a solid companion.
I do hope she’s not hiding anything.
He was very shy, and could hardly talk to her…
I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop, but I think she said “you sound like you’re just a little hoarse.”
Seems to me that stallion is trying to collect a herd.
Those Greek warriors may be in for a big surprise – and Horsey? So many healthy colts with lovely manes that that giant mare will give birth to in the middle of the night!
.
Is that a pharmacist in the back?
Could be.
Could also just be a random guy in a white jacket.
But I’m thinking the story here might be that he’s a veterinarian, chasing that scared, wild, escaped cat!
Actually, this is quite disturbing.
That has got to be the working definition of an “action-packed image.”

Where would you want to hang such a thing?.
100% it’s an illustration for a story

A real-life picture of the fan follow up to ‘Calvin & Hobbes’; ‘Hobbes & Bacon’ 🙂
The fan strips are set several years later, Calvin and Susie are married and have a little girl who gets scared of nighttime monsters. Enter Hobbes 🙂
she’s si i i i i i nging in the rain…
She looks to be very happy.
…
I’m already ducking from the sopping wet shaking he’s about to do.
NOSE!
,
“Hah! I kid! I’m a kidder.”
beautiful!
,
Love it. 😀
Grant Wood
he’s just pointing out that it finally stopped snowing …
Poor guy. I feel for him. 🙂
Those leaves are going to be a bugger to rake up!
And a hazard to drivers. Especially the two-wheel kind.
A capital idea to create a themed edition of TNSL. 🤩

I’m sure he’ll rise to the occasion.
hahahahaha … !
Behold the title…
A bit cryptic.
If you mean cos it says “Lover” not “Lovers”… that’s the title every week, even if it features three completely different creatures.
It certainly doesn’t preclude there being four separate horses!
….
Honestly, I’m just trying to make some silly jokes, and give people a little fun!
Humor sometimes takes a situation and stretches it, just to be funny…
It doesn’t always hold up to microscopic examination.
And some remarks are shorter than others.
Eye of the beholder…

Detroit-style pizza
so, it’s pizza for dinner tonight!
pecan sandies
…and pecan sandies for dessert!
i just love this series, NH. the rocking horse is my favorite today.
Poor pony, get him some glasses. He seems to thrive on being ignored. Well, if he gets lucky with the last one, at least they’ll have Trojans.
You know, to prevent splinters.
Ouch!
