As long as both the tunnel and the rolling stock are built to conform to the loading gauge, all should be fine. Here in the UK there are certain lines with a tighter loading gauge than the rest of the network, on one occasion the wrong coach got assembled into a train on one of those lines and lost the door handles off of both sides.
“the failure on my (mi) pistola, or the failure on your (su) pistola?” Sorry, freshman/sophomore Spanish, 50 or 60 years ago, so I wouldn’t mind a clarification from somebody who is more fluent.
I never liked those comics much – but I do know that that first guy is a failure by himself, his repairs and inventions always bringing harm to his coworker.
Different take: The problem with the safety was that it was stuck in the SAFE position. The boss carelessly handled the gun, assuming it was safe. But it had been FIXED.
Or one installs yt-dlp (as super-user) and go to a directory of ones choice in a shell (not as su) and enter yt-dlp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrS0uNBuG9c if not wanting to enter ones age or anything personal.
I know the new strip comes out about the same time every day, but some times it seems stranger than other times, especially when there’s a more or less nighttime holiday.
It’s July 5th in Cleo’s Cleveland.
We’ve closed the page, here, on everything 4th of Julyish…
But outside my California window it’s still daylight on the Fourth, and the kids are just starting to sneak their illegal fireworks into the street, too close to my car for comfort.
The public fireworks show won’t start for maybe another hour and a half, and the drinking and driving won’t be over for about 6 hours.
.
Mutt & Jeff? You have to be mighty old to get that reference.
Hey! Who you calling mighty old, you whippersnapper?
yeah… me, too!
,
“I think we can just squeeze through. Slap a little grease on that upper edge.”
Yeah, I was just thinking that the first guy to drive through it must have been very brave, or very drunk….
Or maybe just shaking in his boots.
Boss, are you sure it will fit???

It’s the “should” in that sentence that kinda shivers me timbers.
Your last sentence somehow reminds me of “Right Said Fred”…. the song not the group.
I just hate it when my timbers get shivered
What was built first, the tunnel or the train?
I would guess the tunnel.
The tunnel at the end of the train.
all i can see is the NOSE!
Perfect engineering, no waste ☺
.
Cool!
Not much of it is NOT the doggie.
LOL
Just flip it upside down, and you’ll easily see him.
(If like me, you’re on a tablet or phone that automatically turns the screen right side up, like a gimbal on a shipboard candleholder…
You either have to practice your upside-down vision, or turn off that function, which is usually easy to do on the pulldown quick access menu.)
very clever!
Or put the phone/tablet on a flat surface and rotate it 180 degrees.
Right click, choose edit image and rotate (it’s at the bottom).
Of course that’s what you’d do on a computer.
I was silly enough to assume people would do that, but since you can’t on a tablet, they’d try to turn it upside down instead.
Tigressy was catching me in my presumption.
No need to,
And I’m able to read mirror writing, too.
Plus Ubuntu is obviously different from what you use.
Found it!
Looks a little like Lucas Turnbloom. 🙂
I saw this one immediately.
i had to rotate it. now i can easily see it!
Easy.
Right click, choose edit image and rotate (it’s at the bottom).
Marie Catinette
“No kibble? Let them eat fish!”
Yeah yeah… She never said it.
Marie Catinette was more clueless than cruel, and got a bad rap from bogus history.
But heck, I’ll perpetrate mythology any day, in the service of the tiniest trace of humor.
Please don’t stomp on it just to tell me your truth.
Funny – that exactly same name sprang to my mind.
“Let them eat dry food. Or kibble.”
Um…..
You both must have posted at the same time. 😀
NOSE!
,
The hen with the golden eggs.
Not sure I totally get the joke… But he’s saying
“Boss! You saw that I already repaired that failure of the safety on your pistol?”
I like the guy swinging out of the picture.
“the failure on my (mi) pistola, or the failure on your (su) pistola?” Sorry, freshman/sophomore Spanish, 50 or 60 years ago, so I wouldn’t mind a clarification from somebody who is more fluent.
I’m not sure I understand the question.
The fellow in the hall does say “su pistola”… Definitely your pistol.
And he’s talking to the one whose pistol went off in his waistband, making “my” even less likely in his sentence.
I guess the shot was accidental?
But if the first guy repaired the safety, why did it go off…
And is that supposed to be the joke?
I never liked those comics much – but I do know that that first guy is a failure by himself, his repairs and inventions always bringing harm to his coworker.
Oh, OK… Thanks.
I don’t know this comic at all.
So we’re supposed to know that being a bumbler or ne’er-do-well is his stock in trade…
And if he says he repaired something for his boss, the humor is supposed to be in knowing that not only will it NOT be repaired, it will be dangerous?
Hence the boss almost shoots off his foot.
…
Sadly, we don’t get many foreign comics in the US… characters that are known all over the world are completely unfamiliar here.
Also, this particular sort of naive humor is an acquired taste… Which, unfortunately, I haven’t acquired.
But that’s ok.. to each his own.
As I said.
Different take: The problem with the safety was that it was stuck in the SAFE position. The boss carelessly handled the gun, assuming it was safe. But it had been FIXED.
It appears that they have an adventure game
I’ve seen that before. Amazing.
Well, the Norks are certainly complying with the reduced carbon outputs. Keep on them to reduce it more!
except for those occasional harem-scarem missile launches
I saw this or a similar one in a video about North Korea… It was considered contraband.
The people weren’t supposed to see the comparison, or think electricity could come to rural areas.
There was also a museum devoted to the horrors of Western civilization…
Displays of utter nonsense, faked pictures of babies being eaten, people in mass jails… nothing to convey that any of it was fabricated.
It was maddening to watch, and know that people were actually being fed these lies.
That’s John Oliver’s view on North Korea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrS0uNBuG9c

And this one’s a decent summary (also from that show): https://youtu.be/a-lnPk5SFrk
It’s Weird Al!!!
This must be an early “Do Not Touch.”
If Claude thinks he needs help with this problem, just wait for the dinosaurs and spaceships.
….
Of course, Cleo won’t be any more help with those.
She’ll just fret a bit about who’s going to pour the kibble if Claude can’t get back by dinnertime.
Then she’ll remember that Clara’s home, so it’s OK.
And you don’t look like Timmy, Claude.

I stay home.
I think I’ll make dinner now.
Yeah, just keep them away from Susan’s car.
I’m home from my client and i’m in bed. I hope that they finish early tonight.
4:30 is too early without explosions until midnight. Or 2:00.
well, I could just set my alarm for 3AM and post it for you guys’ official start of the day….
….or
not!
I’m voting for the latter.
We need you.
Gee, that’s so darn nice of you…
Be sure to make the coffee.
Oh, wait… You’re talking about midnight.
Never mind.
I like being able to read it before bed.
Yer not svelte enough for that, Cleo.
apple turnovers
