As near as I can tell it’s by a photographer on Deviant Art by the name of Arnie M.. What the ?logo/signature? at the bottom of the picture is (it appears on only a few others at his SITE ) I have no idea.
He doesn’t just do close-up insect photography, he’s also into landscapes and general types too; the site is worth a visit, I think.
RE: The Platters, I have never understood that extra “D” sound in the chorus, i.e. “Only you, can D make the darkness bright.” Does anyone have an explanation?

Unfortunately, they opened a brand new In ‘n Out a mile up my street towards town… and also unfortunately, they have great chocolate milkshakes.
That’s a west coast (I think) hamburger drive in chain with the best fast food burgers around, as cheap as McDonald’s…. though fast food isn’t actually what I call cheap anymore.
A cheeseburger is I think just over $4, and a shake, thick and chocolaty, made with real ingredients, just under 3.
Spending $7 for the two is not healthy for my body or my budget, but the temptation is strong.

I did it one night, driving home from the county fair, where you smell frying food all day, but the prices were unbelievable.
A cheeseburger was $14 to $18 (without fries or anything else!) and a shake something astronomical, so I never ate there.
So far, I’ve resisted stopping at In ‘n Out again… But now I really want a chocolate shake.
Having recently moved west from the east coast, a good chocolate shake is a wonderful thing to find – thanks for the heads up on In & Out. I will give them a try!
I know: not good for me either, but life is too short and an occasional pleasure is usually worth it!

I think I’ve told you guys my Mom wouldn’t let me see any Marlon Houndo pictures when I was a kid… especially The Wild One!
I think she was afraid I would be influenced by his famed sexuality,
along with his bad attitude.
Funny, cos I never found him the least bit attractive…..
he seemed old, kind of blasé, even when he was young, and when I finally saw this film, his 1950’s slang was foreign to me. and dated.

Funny, she did let me see James Dean Dog’s films….
and “Basset Without A Cause” influenced me a lot more than the Wild One could have, had I seen it at the same age.
It was a few years later, and Dean Dog was younger… even though he was playing a teenager when he was really 25.
He still looked the part,…. and very handsome, with that perfect, insolent slouch.
Houndo never struck that nerve with me….
he was almost 30, and looked it, and didn’t show quite the same vulnerability, though he was also portraying alienated youth.
But I know his influence, and that of this movie, was very strong on Howlywood and society….
The human actor, who tried to copy Houndo’s name and swagger, but affected a mumbly way of talking instead of Houndo’s soft bark, had the same sort of reputation…
Another supposedly irresistible “bad boy” your mother wouldn’t want you to see. But I didn’t find him attractive either.
The studio however, pushed that image.
This is a poster for the human copydog film, that I would almost call exploitative… they’re trying to make the whole point of the movie be the human Marlon’s sex appeal.
Love this. I had Marlon’s poster on my walls for years as a kid – likely helped contribute to my becoming an avid motorcyclist. Need to get that one again and a full size Wild Dog as well!

Yes. A great song, but it sounds like they sing “canned”… only in the opening sentences of each stanza.
In other lines they don’t say it that way.
One line has the confusing lyric “only you can(ned) make the darkness dry”, which also needs explanation!
