It’s our 34th wedding anniversary today!
And tomorrow it will be 40 years since we’ve become a loving couple. Moved in together only a couple of weeks later.
Congratulations! We celebrated #39 at the start of the month. We also became sweethearts several years earlier. We were living together on and off as our situations allowed for three years prior to marriage. School, summer jobs, internships, etc. kept us hopping around. But whenever practical we were “shackin’ up”.
Today’s Songs:
‘Down in the Boondocks,’ ‘Dream Police,’ ‘Dream Weaver,’ and ‘Dreamer,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe ‘Apple Currant Bread Pudding.’
Looks great… but more like a tri-tip sandwich (especially popular around here at events and from food trucks) or maybe a Philly cheesesteak, than a hoagie.
A hoagie is supposed to be cold, piled with assorted Italian deli meats and cheese…. several kinds of each, usually topped with lettuce, onions, and some olive oil and vinegar.
I’d much rather have the sandwich in this picture, myself.
From two days ago (I meant to post this yesterday, but I forgot).
This is a picture link drawn by Katherine Pyle and it leads to her version of “The Three Bears.”
Oddly, the link will take you directly to the story, but the illustration appears as the front piece just under the cover as you scroll from the top.
There are 33 other stories here too; her version of “Puss in Boots” being one.
Re: the Little Golden Book version
By some sites Feodor Rojankovsky also wrote the text.
And this closes my research.
But you see, I wasn’t looking for other versions of “The Three Bears”, with different illustrations, or other kinds of bear pictures, or another author who retold that same story.
I was interested in the particular bear in the picture that was posted…. trying to recall some other book, NOT “The Three Bears,” illustrated with bears that look just like that one.
You were probably right the first time, as I said…. in that I may have been thinking of the book you found then.
From yesterday.
“Can I get this as wallpaper?”
If you’re running a P.C. here’s the method I use: (but it could very well be that like me you won’t get the whole picture on your monitor / I have a 22″ one and even using the “Span” option I only got three cats)
1)
Open your “Pictures” file (I find it’s easiest to make both it and the “Cleo” window half screens).
2)
Drag the picture directly to your Pictures file.
3)
Right click on the dragged picture and select “Set as desktop background”.
4)
Go to your desktop. If you feel you want to manipulate it, right click and select “Personalize” and go on from there.
I hope this helps.

How many Clownfish can fit inside an anemone?
good one, Hap!
That’s a friend, not anemone to the clown fish.
Coach Vince Lombardi at a Green Bay diner in 1962
My father liked Vince Lombardi enough to follow a professional team.
We happened to be stationed in Wisconsin during Lombardi’s tenure with the Green Bay Packers.
Dad was an avid fan of college football, but rarely watched a pro game, until he found “his” Packers and Lombardi.

What’s the theme? Cat food?
Cat loaf
NOSE!

Typical dog. Particularly when they’re feeling stressed or anxious, they find great comfort in close physical contact.

This pooch must be a surfer. Just look at that tight curl.
NOSE!
Tongue!

Found ’em all.
Remember, they’re hidden objects… not used as the actual items… so the placements are not what you’d expect.
What I liked best for this puzzle is that they show what exactly you are looking for — and not the artist’s (usually vague) idea of the object…
Which is a good thing when the artist seems to have no idea what a horseshoe looks like. 😁
Yes, much less frustrating this way, fer-sure!
I’m back in the pediatrician’s waiting room reading old HiLights magazines ☺
Compare and contrast: Marlon Houndo and James Dean Dog.
I thought I did that Tuesday.
My dogs annoy Kiki by trying to get her to play.
Not, gonna happen.
Wow. “Basset Without A Cause.”
James Dean Dog.
Sigh…..
…
Just as I remembered him…
with those smoky, half-lidded, rebellious eyes….
that slight swagger of feigned bravado.
Setting the still-current dress code for alienated youth,
with his tight blue jeans and white t-shirt,
when acceptable attire meant pressed slacks and a collared shirt.
And that bright, collectible red silk bomber jacket!
OK, so it wasn’t collectible yet back then…. but it sure is now.
…
He was a sex symbol even to little girls like me….
way too young to understand what it meant…
and whose mothers didn’t foresee the impact.
.
He’s still the model for that role.
The humans tried to do it too!
Posting this for Stel…..
A blonde guy in a copy of his jacket… but he has no floppy ears. Hahaha!

Congrats to you both.
Congratulations indeed! We are 41 on Monday.
