I would consider many of them as comedy and others as hilarious. Some gave me nightmares back in the day. But those are scarce.
And it brings back fond memories – There were movie nights on TV late Saturday evenings when I was a teenager. My late father stayed up with me that I didn’t get frightened. We both had good laughs at those movies. (sigh)
I don’t watch horror movies either… but I recognize a lot more than one.
Some aren’t horror movies, but spoofs, or weren’t even supposed to be scary in the first place… in fact, one is on my short list of all time favorite films.
Some have been advertised, promoted, and discussed in various media, till you absorb symbolic images of them, almost by osmosis.
And I’m surprised by the number of them that have been the subject of Stel’s posters and/or Nighthawks’ cartoons.
I have no idea what show you mean. But I can definitely hear the ‘theme song’ lilt in the tune. With the Unseen String Orchestra that accompanied so many singers on TV.
Words that are more than a little creepy, however.
Today’s Songs:
‘ Jealous Guy,’ ‘Johnny B. Good,’ ‘Just A Gigolo / I Ain’t Got Nobody,’ and ‘Karma Chamelion,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe ‘Asian Turnip Slaw’.
Which one do you remember best, the ‘Plastic Ono Band’ or ‘Wings’?
Chuck, not ‘Marty McFly’ (although that’s fun too).
David Lee Roth; he does have a comedic turn.
As I said on the 11th …; I give you G. A. O’Dowd.
.
Do you remember that song of theirs: “Bustin’ Bones”?
Alright, who’s the wise guy that rubbed bologna all over the basset’s faces?
They look opinionated to me.
I don’t think that it’s a favorable opinion.
🤣 Funny. 😅
Tongue!
Tongue!
…”Tongues and Noses”
NOSE!
NOSE!!

a favorite!
A kind of gruesome poster for a sweet movie… well, except for, you know, the bodies and stuff.
Are there high schools that never put on the play?
Maybe it’s not popular any more, but it was once the darling of high school drama departments.
I was in it, I saw friends in it, and later, two friends’ kids in it.
Funny to see how each director and young make up crew try to turn 16 year olds into elderly people.
Regarding the last paragraph: Easy. Just let them take a few laps with full school gear (books etc in their back-packs).
We never got to do Arsenic, but I got to play the Undertaker in “Our Town” and the dirty old man in “The Boyfriend.”
I was born old!

That AC in the window is why people no longer sit on the front porch any more.
AC changed that aspect of culture in the US.
And pirates! Don’t forget the pirates!!!

No problems here – it’s a .png – just use an appropriate viewer.
Wow, Stel, you nailed it!

Just one?
I haven’t watched much horror.
Just not my bag.

I love the artwork on these old horror comics.
READ THE FULL COMIC HERE.
No warm water or central heating whatsoever at the moment.
A Brit-com used this for a theme song. I used to watch it on PBS.
I can’t remember the name.

I believe the Brit-Com was “Call of the Midwife”, the version of this song was sung by Val Doonican:

‘Butterfly’
starred Geoffrey Palmer
That might be it!
This always came across as a peeper song for me.
I loved this one, of course — bugs!
tree boa
Looks as if it’s been tied into a slipknot.
Yup. Boas tend to be good at that.
It looks uncomfortrably comfortable!
Full.

I love that karma Chameleon video.
me too!
Me three!
Johnny B Goode was the first song to ever reach “favorite” status with me.
It’s a good thing Claude didn’t ask to be “stinking rich.”
October 13th is on a Friday this year.
Oh goody.
I don’t want to be rich. I want to be comfortable.
Anything more would be icing.
Love the Linda Ronstadt song!
