Image searches using Google, Bing, or Tineye did not find an image match, just “related images” (or in the case of Tineye, nothing), and yet you came across it and posted it.
I have seen the related images listed as wallpaper, generated by artificial intelligence, or as part of a corporation’s collection, none with any credit listed.
Please, what U.R.L. will take me to this image on the web?

Apropos of absolutely nothing, I got my flu shot and Covid booster today (officially yesterday by today’s date, but it’s before midnight still for me).

If I’ve heard a “Talking Heads” (formed 1975 in New York City) song before, I do not recall it.
This one, at least, won’t be making my list of songs I like (I made it about halfway through before shutting it down).
Talking Heads was a New Wave band… post-punk, artsy.
Led by David Byrne, I think they were all art students when they started.
All their lyrics are rather surreal and detached, and I don’t really take them literally.
You may know this one….
But most of their songs start out slowly.
Get about a minute or a bit more in before you judge, or decide you’ve never heard it… even if you have to skip some (the good thing about videos vs records).
Pop would never put syrup on his pancakes. He treated them like toast or an English Muffin.
He preferred silver dollar too regular sized because they were easier to pick up.

Well…. I have a hard time sharing health information…
But I had a long-awaited appointment Tuesday with my doctor.
Monday I felt ill, but I didn’t want to cancel, so I did a home Covid test, which they require if you’re sick l before an appointment. Negative.
Tuesday I felt fine anyway, so I went.
While I was there, I got the usual blood tests etc, and also a flu shot.
I wanted the new formula Covid booster and also the new RSV vaccine, but at my HMO they’re given in two different places, neither of which is my doctor’s office.
I got home and felt sick again.
The next day, feeling worse, I did another Covid test.
Guess what.
Positive.
….
I have Covid.
My three year safety record of caution and masking is shot.
I went to the pharmacy today (I know, I know, but I’m short on minions) and picked up a prescription for Paxlovid, the antiviral I’m lucky to get. Started it.
I don’t feel terribly sick, and I’m breathing fine.
I can’t say I feel well. Symptoms come and go.
I have had it twice diagnosed, and once, I think, un-. After getting it in September, 2022, when I was prescribed Paxlovid, I got it again in May, 2023. It forced me to reschedule cataract surgery and to miss my niece’s wedding.
That metallic taste lasted for days after I had stopped taking it. I customarily drink fresh brewed tea made from loose tea leaves. But while I had that taste already ruining anything I ate, I drank the cheap stuff made with teabags. No sense drinking high-quality, expensive tea when you can’t taste it.

That’s a meal I’ve never understood.
Do people put maple syrup on the chicken??
I don’t even put it on my pancakes, so maybe that’s why I don’t get it.

My grandpa taught me to eat them dry with granulated sugar. I still do.
With a fork, or sometimes picking up tiny ones.
My father hated the sound and used to pretend(I think!) to be mad at his father for that.
He said it made him think of eating sandy food at the beach… but Grandpa and I loved our pancakes.

I should be ok.
BTW… I know some people want pats on the head for every sniffle, others love describing their symptoms. It’s ok.
But I grew up in a house where saying “I have a headache” or “Gosh, my left leg fell off” was considered whining.
I don’t hold other people to that standard whatsoever, but I’m hard on myself.
This, though, I felt I should share.
It’s only taken me 2 days to do it, and I still feel like apologizing.

I took Paxlovid about 13 months ago for Covid. It helped, but it left a nasty, metallic taste in my mouth for several days afterward.
I’m already tasting that, or at least I was last night.
Very strong!
Paxlovid is a pain but of course I’m not going to stop taking it.

And smart phones for texting.
I’ve always been pretty good with being alone… even before computers… but today’s communication makes it so much easier.
We can have friends and watch movies and shop and learn things from bed… Would’ve been a miracle in 1972.
