I would not want to be down below when a piece of that breaks off. As it appears one is ready to do before long.

I think he’s one of the famous grotesques on Notre Dame cathedral.

They’re beloved, and it’s possible he’d already been stablized with some sort of internal repair.

But the fire in 2019 damaged some of them farther, and they need even more work.

Some are being replaced with new copies. That didn’t seem right to me, but then I found out some had already been replaced in the 19th century.

It is indeed “Notre Dame” in Paris.
The Eiffel Tower is just a little North of West from the cathedral.
All being well, Notre Dame will reopen in December next year for both services and visiting.
As I said earlier, the PC idiots (I called them animals for that post) are apparently getting involved, so let’s hope they get squashed.
There are some really spectacular pictures of Notre Dame (before the fire) and Paris in general by the same photographer      HERE.

Barbie after Ken’s passing?

I didn’t have many Barbies (2, to be precise) – the first one had black hair.

It may be sacrilegious, but I never really saw the point of any of this series.

I’ll see your sacrilege and raise you a “I never liked Disney cartoons”. I mean the movies are pretty good but the whole Mickey, Donald, etc. didn’t seem that funny. I was Warner Bros all the way.

The caption below comes from      HERE.     From the article it would seem to be accurate.
The author of the fictionalized history novel, “The Wives of Los Alamos”, TaraShea Nesbit is an Associate Professor at Miami University.
She holds the following degrees…
PhD, Creative Writing–Prose, University of Denver, 2015
MFA, Creative Writing–Poetry, Washington University in St. Louis, 2005
BA, English Literature, The Ohio State University, 2003
…I think we can rely on her research for the history part.

Le Grand van Gogh”      By:  Bruno Catalano (sculptor / born in Morocco / now French)

Part of a series of sculptures (at least 30) titled “Les Voyageurs” by the sculptor.
I cannot find where this picture was taken for sure, but it might be Marseille.

Today’s Songs:
‘Sign of the Times,’ ‘Signs,’ ‘Silence is Golden,’ and ‘Silhouettes,’and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe ‘Beef Filet Appetizer.’
She was 33 years old when this was released.
‘The Five Man Electrical Band’ was formed in Ottawa in in 1963 as the ‘Staccatos’. ‘The Tremoloes’ are still active; they were first formed in 1958 so I doubt it’s the same personnel.
Unlike nighthawks’ posting on September 25, this is the full song (the punch line Greyhame referred to at that time occurs at 1:22.

“The Evil White Cat” (the sobriquet given to us by the almost certainly, sadly, deceased Katina Cooper), could take apart any black cat with one swipe of her paw.

We only know that Katina didn’t post again, after saying one day, coincidentally or otherwise, that she didn’t feel well.

We have ZERO evidence, other than your assumption, that she became seriously ill, much less that she actually passed away.

She may have had some condition she didn’t tell us about…

Then again, she had also said not long before that she was about to be busy with a new job, and didn’t know whether she’d have time for the comics.

It’s one thing to surmise, another to state your guess as a fact.

Apropos of nothing.
I don’t know exactly when this occurred, but I just saw it on Wednesday of this week.
I forgot to post it yesterday.

Nah, not quite; just retinal reflection. We do Geocaching (activity), Nubi was a feature on a Travel Bug (dog-tag) we sent out into the Wide World of Geocaching, and his part was of the Committee “enforcer”.
