I’ve set the clip to start at the appropriate time (I remembered the scene, but not the lines / thanks).

If you follow this     LINK     it will take you to another website where this is posted.
Scroll down, and it should appear on the right side in the second row.
Left click on it, and you can then use your scroll wheel to zoom it up.
As it goes off centre, use the left click again to move the creature (it reminds me of cousin Itt from the Addams family tree) to the centre again.
The definition is so high, that very little distortion comes in and you’ll get a better look at it.
I can only find that it’s digital art “in the style of…” and I disagree with the assessment of what style it is (I see no resemblance).

Blown up I can see that the short one has four legs (dog?), and the larger aliens do look human.

That’s what I took them for.

Didn’t occur to me that maybe they were supposed to be humans.

Are you asking about the name?

Cord was a high end make from the late 20s to about the time of this one… 1937.

Gorgeous cars… Sleek and classy.
In the movies they’re driven by billionaires, gangsters and villains, to show that they’re rich, and different from you and me.

They’re the cars with the headlights that rolled shut, and one of the first to eliminate running boards.

Sorry I misunderstood.

I did think you would have heard of them…

but it sounded like you had read the caption and were asking about the cars.

My puzzle-addicted brain is stuck on this… straining to figure out where that slice came from.

It’s way longer than the radius of the pizza…. which has no missing piece.

Yet the gooey, melting cheese seems to be attached to both.

I’m stuck on the top left peperoni(?) which looks more like a checkers piece with an embossed rider on a horse.

I thought maybe they were coins or tokens…

But why would coins be on a pizza?

Finally realised they’re neither pepperoni nor something inedible…

They’re tiny cherry tomatoes, halved, and cut side up.

The rims are from the insides shrinking.
The “designs” are the seeds and juice pockets after baking.

Look at the ones on the tip of the slice, and the one closest to us on the pizza.

It’s AI generated which is why it looks odd.

Is there a reason you know?

Cos I wondered at first but the cheese made me think it was real.

You seem to have more faith in AI rendering than I do… but it’s quite possible that I just don’t know enough about what it can do.

I saw some AI generated people, used in advertising, who looked more real than I thought they could… Scary!

Again, I got the adult very easily, but for the childhood one my guess was Joyce DeWitt.

Didn’t recognize her as a child but I should have, cos I’ve seen other childhood photos.

The thing is she looks quite different from photo to photo.

For those who don’t recognize the adult, if indeed any don’t….

she’s….

The only reason I got this (adult picture) is because one of my daughter’s college roommates was a huge fan and had pictures up in the room.

This is a story featuring “The Eye” by Frank Thomas (who both wrote and illustrated it). I cannot find which issue this is from, but here is another story featuring The Eye.
The heroine’s name is Betty Betts, sister of Nickie, who was killed trying to leave the gang by the evil villain Spigetti, who has a henchman named Slobber.
I’ve set this     LINK     up to start the story within the comic.
The whole comic is there, but the paging system is very awkward. I ended up just going to the address bar and changing the page numbers there (the story runs from page 45 to page 54).

@ Everybody

The Martin+Lawrence Galleries list the original of this picture link, “Swan Dive” by Robert Deyber (“Doggy Paddle” from yesterday), for $12,068.00 U.S; for other prices you must “CONTACT GALLERY”.
The link leads to more of his works (there are sites with more again easily reached on the ‘net / he does bunny puns but there’s only one at this link ).

The gateway to parallel universes is being snapped out of existence in the “Endtown” strip. Maybe it got stuck in one of those instead of ours.

From Saturday: re the scones versus “Bunny Bites”.

There is only one entirely different ingredient between the two recipes, and that is the cornmeal, and it’s an additional one.
Yes, the amounts and types of the common ones do vary, but leave out the cornmeal and match the volumes one way or the other, and you would have the same recipes (butter can be used as a shortening / the brown sugar would give a different flavour; not one to my taste as I implied / why not use cream in “Bunny Bites?).

Scotch Cream Scones…………………………………………………………Bunny Bites

flour…………………………………………………………………………………………..flour
baking powder…………………………………………………………………………..baking powder
sugar…………………………………………………………………………………………sugar (brown)
shortening………………………………………………………………………………..shortening (butter)
eggs………………………………………………………………………………………….egg
cream or milk…………………………………………………………………………..milk
xxxxxx……………………………………………………………………………………….cornmeal

Wow, a lot of work just to compare…

But you must know that the same ingredients don’t always create the same food.

The amount of liquid makes a huge difference, and so do the proportions…. as does the way they’re mixed and cooked or baked.

The list above could also make a couple of different types of cake, or pancakes. Possibly even some sweet breads.

Just flour and water in different proportionsu can make several kind of stovetop flatbread, unleavened crackers, like matzoh… Or library paste…

Flour and shortening and a little liquid makes pastry of various kinds.

There’s more liquid in muffins than scones, they’re not made the same way, and regardless of their ingredients, they’re quite different from one another.

An addition to one might, of course, not work in the other.

Not difficult; it’s just holding down the period key until they shift into place.
I stand by my “………….. match the volumes one way or the other, and you would have the same recipes……….”; albeit I should have mentioned they would have different tastes and textures.
Again, I’m not about to add brown sugar in any volume to my scones.

Fair point, Cleo.

Imagine if we had to line up, and be judged on our conformation, our weight and our posture, the thickness and gloss of our hair and the straightness of our teeth.

Walked around a ring, to be judged on our walk and our pace, and especially obedience.

I wouldn’t be taking home any blue ribbons.

The observation skills and subject knowledge of any set of contest judges’ skills can be applied (admittedly broadly) to those of the judges at this     LINK.

But always take heart that you are the only one of you there is:
∴You are the only example of the type “you”
∴You must be a perfect example of the type “you”
∴ You are perfect
