Probably 1958, the summer before their fatal crash, cos I don’t think they traveled for years with the same lineup.

After all, Buddy Holly was in his early 20s and Richie Valens was still a teenager in 59.

Panels – yes. Solar – I’m not so sure. Maybe it’s intent was always to be a dance floor? ☺

And Stu and Pete.

Before Ringo.

1960, at the Indra Club in Hamburg.

According to one article I read, that was the first club they played in Hamburg, and this was one of their first nights.

The picture is colorised; some versions show the jackets as blue, but according to the same writer, they were actually a pale lavender, and were made by George’s neighbor, a tailor.

George, BTW, was 17 years old here. John was almost 20.

That looks as if it was no fun at all.

Thanks.

The upshot, for those of short attention span, is that this is a digital illustration, and not a photo of a real event.

Sad news, there is real footage, for those interested, of a ship hitting, and demolishing a highway bridge in Baltimore last night. It is unknown how many cars were on the Francis Scott Key bridge at the time. Only two people were rescued. There was also supposed to be a work crew on it.

Maybe… it does look rather familiar.

But even if I’ve done it before, I still had to find the kitty again, so it’s still a puzzle.

Wow… it’s Mata Hari!

Greta Garbone looks so beautiful!

With her lovely gossamer wisps of costume…(ahem)..

and her come-hither, lowered lids, enhanced by …um… you know….

she’s a true femme fatale… in the tradition of the real Mata Hari herself.

Stel did a beautiful job on this one.

Of course, we have to give kudos, as well, to (cough) the costume designer.

And Ramon Nov-arrooo… oooooo…… ooooooooo….

Yes, he was a dog…..

and way before my time, thank-you-very-much….

But what a heartthrob. I’d take him for a walk any time.

I never did find a poster for a human version that incorporates all the detail of Stel’s work…

which must be too complex for their lesser talents to steal….

There were two or three, as I recall, which each used part of it.

The rest was her design.

I think I’ve posted here before that my father could never stand Greta Garbone.

I don’t know why…. or whether it was actually her looks, as he claimed, or something she supposedly did….

but he always called her Greta Garbage.

Just think how much he would have disliked her human counterpart.

Yesterday morning when i got to my clients i noticed that something wasn’t right.
Figured out that he had another stroke. He’s in the hospital right now for observation.
I’m feeling a little guilty because iv’e been wanting a break, but not this way. 🙁

Don’t.
It’s not your fault (quite the contrary).
You have to be healthy yourself to help others.
Been there; done that. My late sister (12 years older than me), no less.

No reason for you to feel guilty. You probably saved him.

♥ You have the toughest job in the world. You bravely put yourself in the position of caring for those in their last days. You certainly can’t take the blame for their conditions. Your need for a break neither accelerates or delays the inevitable. Take pride, you saved a life today. ♥
