I agree that Roy is a jerk for leaving his family, but the story is about obsession and this is the sad reality. Whether a chemical addiction or a mental addiction (like gambling), obsessions are nasty things.
I’d better not be smelling any lightning bugs… or I’m outta here!
Or creepy crawlers, either…
Unless they mean Creepy Crawlers™ the ones made of that soft squishy plastic that has a plastic-y scent…
Especially the ones you could make at home, in your very own little “oven” … the “boy’s” equivalent of the Easy Bake…. though in our house we all shared both.
Later they even had one that made them out of stretchy gummy candy!
History:
The Listowel-Ballybunion Railway opened on 1st March 1888. It ran the ten miles between the two towns and was remarkable as the only railway of its type in the world. How two small towns in the south west of Ireland came to be linked by the world’s first commercial passenger-carrying monorail is a fascinating story.
What did they do, check his license?
Seriously, though, if those numbers are accurate, consider all the sea-based and earth-altering events that have occurred since 1627. Most are cataclysmic, and this young buck has managed to avoid them all. Kudos. Even though he’s blissfully ignorant of it all.
Not to be too nitpicky, but I believe there are then ten differences. I am confident in one I found that is not highlighted in your solution. And that difference is
Those are both very tiny differences that I doubt were put in on purpose…
These puzzles are made on purpose, so to me, tiny accidents don’t count as “Differences”.
But it isn’t up to me… It’s up to Nighthawks.
…
I didn’t see those things… in fact I still can’t see the second one on my small tablet screen. Maybe it’s something visible on a computer monitor.
If you want to say you found ten, or eleven, you can… after all, nobody’s keeping score.
But those are so small and accidental looking I wouldn’t expect other people to find or count them, unless Nighthawks says they’re official differences.
For anyone who happened along after the Cliffords vacated, wondering where Cleo had been, my advice would have been obvious. Find the lounge that looks as if a three year old had been there last.
,
Not just a thumbs up, but i give it a <3 as well.
Oh look. Here comes Richard Dreyfuss…
Deserting his wife and children…
At least in this one.
I understand following dreams… but leaving your supposed “loved” ones behind and picking up a new girlfriend…
I never liked that!
Terri Garr never catches a break.
That always bothered me–that part of Spielberg’s character of Roy was flawed, to put it mildly—-why not have Roy be single?

Told ya!
Yup.
I saw him coming!

Hell no!
We won’t go!
A portrait of idiots.
oh yeah
..,
Now that’s a strange kind of track.
A type of monorail.
Or tri-rail; depends on how many of the rails it engages,(as opposed to support trusses)
Keeps the cows off.
A very Irish type of railway………

Don’t mind if I do…
find three things wrong in this picture
An anticlockwise clock, and an extra day in June….
I may not be totally out of my mind, but I’m at the wall and holding a sledgehammer!
Please use spoiler boxes, I saw your answers before I even knew it was a puzzle.
Wasn’t labelled as such when I posted my comment.
Maybe this was meant to be a puzzle.
Should have been captioned “Find Three Things Wrong with This Picture”.
Maybe more than three, but so far I only see
Same here.
It’s hard to decide what is “wrong” from bad art.
again, totally my fault. last night I MEANT to put in the caption that you just
mentioned…..“Find Three Things Wrong with This Picture”.
I’ve got them. All good.
13.
Um… 14?
15, momma counts too.
I know… I couldn’t decide whether to count all the ducks or just the ducklings.
But then I thought Happy³ was probably just counting ducklings, so I replied in kind.
I got all nine! Woo Hoo !!!
Nine!
Well… here I am…. feeling (sniffle) a wee bit unnecessary at the moment.
Just remember… next time maybe you’ll need a solution…
And who ya gonna call?
…
Besides, you just might want to check the ones you found against what I found….
Just to make sure we agree.
But we probably do… I’m generally pretty agreeable 😁.
Find out…
Not to be too nitpicky, but I believe there are then ten differences. I am confident in one I found that is not highlighted in your solution. And that difference is
yes–sorry about that! both the shadow and the glasses are different
Sorry, NH… I’ve been having off and on Wi-Fi problems… worse last night than right now.
Sometimes the page won’t refresh…
I have to hit the back button, get my page back, and comment without a refresh.
Usually it’s ok… But sometimes I miss something.
Like the fact that you’d already replied.
Sigh….
Btw in my tablet I can’t see the glasses difference.
I guess that’s one sure dividing line between what I consider an actual difference and what I don’t.
you’re right

Nighthawks had already replied.
And I was going to see that before I saw your comment, right?
Of course!
well , they are differences… but I never knew they were there and are not included in the more obvious total of nine
I apologize for my screwups…..getting older makes me less sharper, I guess
You’re not alone!
Yay 9

Me & Bobbie Magee is another favorite song.
I could not get on right away this morning. I kept getting a error page.
That was happening to me in the middle of the night…
I thought it was just my Wi-Fi, but maybe not.
