Like the castle picture yesterday, which works better for me than this one, this image makes use of “color fatigue” to create negative afterimages in your brain.
The color receptors, or cones, in your retina each display mostly one color.. either red, blue, or green… and your brain mixes them into the colors you see.
…
Cones can get weary of transmitting the same color for more than a few seconds, and temporarily shut down.
Other cones jump in, but their combination will display the complementary color… the one opposite the missing one on the color wheel.
The light receptors, or rods also switch places from fatigue.
The images are designed to show you a different picture when your eyes get tired of their original colors and brightness.
I was getting concerned because we hadn’t seen Alexikakos in so long.
Usually I don’t question that, because he frequently disappears.
But I know he’s had health problems.
I’m not infringing on his privacy by saying that, as he’s posted about it himself.
So I emailed him, and he actually answered.
He didn’t say I could divulge the specific details of his reply, so for now I’ll just say that he’s doing all right, but has had things to take care of… And he’ll be back when he’s ready, but maybe not for a while.
.
Poster dog for the SPCA –he’s worth millions!
??

I want to go there and buy a few children.
A quarter apiece is a good deal!
Do you think they come fully clothed?
…
Wait… will they be children now, or leftover children from 1933?
I really can’t afford to take care of any 95 to 100 year-olds.
but you can afford to raise …gulp…..children?

,,
I can’t imagine John Wayne and Howard Cosell as soloists!
You mean you could imagine Ed Asner and Redd Foxx in that role?
LOL
In Redd’s case, it could depend on what they were singing. Dirty limericks, or some good old Copulatin’ Blues, yes.
Apparently this “Boy’s Choir” was only formed for a one-off skit on Laugh-In.
Which explains a lot.

Check out this one too…
There is no green dot… No green at all!
cool!

Very good. I know many of those places all too well.
I’m on a fellowship there this year.
..
Bunnies?
Or rabbit puppies, to her.

I want the bicycle back!
Oh, wait! There it is!
This one does seem considerably harder than the bicycle one…
I really had to search… but I found it
I saw that area and thought is was ‘different’, but I couldn’t make a bird house out of it until I saw your solution.
I wasn’t going to post a solution to yesterday’s bicycle one…
But then one person, whom I’m not going to name, said he hadn’t found it yet.
Perhaps that’s no longer true, but as that person may or may not be my boss at Cleo and Company Productions, I decided to do it.
So this is for that nameless person… who might be called something that may or may not rhyme with “Right walks.” But I’m not telling.
Also for anyone else who wants to see it, of course.
What’s funny to me is that the chicken appears to be attempting to ride it.
thanks.
I needed that!
You’re welcome.
Psst… I… um….. I hope you’ll remember this when my annual review comes up.
Fret no more. I’ll put in a good word with management.
still waiting for that good word
umm…oh yeah—sure!
I’ll sure keep that in mind

Somebody got a new box of pastels.
Oh my…
I knew Miss Behave would soon be aiming something dangerous in Sam Basset’s direction…
But I thought it would be her… um… her …eyes.
Yup. That’s what I thought it would be… her eyes.
But here he is, staring down the barrel of her Smith and Wesson 38 revolver instead…
At least… it might be a Smith and Wesson 38 revolver.
What do I know from guns?
I only know that if you see something like that pointing at you… you shouldn’t do anything foolish.
And if that happens often… you might want to think about a different career path.
….
Meanwhile… Sam Basset sees red in those scratches … even though it’s now a grey car.
At least, in a black & white comic, it’s grey.
Remember, C&C productions pays Nighthawks not much more than they pay me…
I think ALL of our paychecks start with $0, even if they extend to ten figures… So even if he gets $0,000,000,000.⁰⁰ it doesn’t go far
That means they probably can’t afford special glowing red ink for every scene, either… and you can’t expect Nighthawks to buy it himself.
But if you look right where Sam’s magnifying glass is aimed… In the third panel close-up…
Right in the crack between the trunk and the fender… get your nose in as close as you can….
You’ll see that they splurged on a quarter teaspoon or so… Just enough that if you try hard, you can see for yourself some traces of bright red paint.

In case anyone else was wondering.
Thank you.
We have severe problems ourselves at the moment, otherwise I would have asked.
gosh, we’e just a clan of declining old folks, aren’t we?
Fearing to lose our home.
I was wondering how that was going. You hadn’t mentioned it in a while, so I thought (hoped) it had been taken care of.
fingers crossed that doesn’t happen!
indeed. thanks for the info….I miss him when he’s not around
I was.
Thanks, Susan.
I was just thinking about him when I signed in here this morning.
You don’t suppose…. no…. I didn’t think so…. but….

What is this and how did it get here?
It seemed to show up when I posted that image… though the URL is for this site.
I linked to the picture on my tablet, anyway… not to anyplace on the Internet.
It seems to be a trackback URL, for posting on other forums… though I’m not sure how they work, and whether I accidentally created one.
I sure don’t know…that’s a first for me
