I thought of that too….

But I didn’t want to give instructions for something so dangerous to try.

Don’t worry… It widens them as it goes.

Makes you wonder what the elephants were thinking? Wait!! What’s she doing putting fire engine red on my legs?? I wanted mauve!

Actually, I’ve seen prostheses made for elephants with bad/injured feet, and those were actually extremely useful !!

Is it a false color image (UV)? Those large dark blobs should be green. I thought it looked terribly dreary, so I cross referenced with Google Earth; there really are parks and green areas.

I took it for a B/W photo… But I guess there’s blue so it’s not.

Seems a bit redundant to say “in person” 😁!

OK, yeah… maybe by now there are virtual live shows somewhere, but probably not in the 50s.

p>

Here’s the official answer.
I got them all, but there are two answers that work for 4 and 9. I got both of the ones for 4, and my answer fro 9 is not the official answer ; I didn’t see it. Both extra answers follow all mathematical rules of precedence.

Toar? Olive Oyl?

That’s what I was thinking….

But it says “Act 2” and some instructions refer to the first page.. maybe Olive is there.

I googled Toar..

I read that he was a character in Elzie Segar’s original newspaper comic version of Popeye, when it was called Thimble Theater, but didn’t appear in the theatrical cartoons.

He started out as a not very bright caveman, and Popeye’s enemy.
Over time, his appearance and occupation changed a few times, and he became his pal…. But still not too bright.

His appearance must have changed between the above and this, as well.

Neil Smellstrong (great name) was just doing his patriotic duty.

He saved it up all the way to the moon, to be able to plant the basset version of the flag.

Those early basstronauts were very brave. The LEM had less than 1Mbite of kibble; far less than you’d find in a standard kitchen nowadays.
