Huh! I’m glad you asked that, JP! I was curious, so I went on a search just to see what a T.rex would look like with feathers, and came across this GIF that I thought was well done:

And, a colorful one, as well:

I dunno, I can’t help but feel that the Cowsills are making fun of Hair. They do a good job singing but they do not look natural in their hair.

Yeah! Now that version rocks! I have hair down to where it stops by itself, though that is not as long as it used to be and is balanced by a bit of thinning on top. Still I am known in my neighborhood as the old hippie.

Yeah… the Cowsills were known for being squeaky clean and wholesome…

not that there was anything dirty or UN-wholesome about long hair…

but groups like the Cowsills were out to contrast with the “scruffy” hippies.

Why they thought they could put on horrible fright wigs and carry this off, to me is a mystery…

But you know, I’ve always felt the same way about the lyrics.

No actual long haired hippie sings about the fleas in his hair…

so maybe to the Cowsills, this song, like their wigs, is a mockery of long hair

I WAS wondering.

I thought you were the world champion.

The side by side is slightly delayed, but won’t be terribly late.

Can’t get on the computer right now (I’m on my phone) cos someone is helping me do some stuff outside.

Actually, Arfside, we ALL did! As soon as NH found out, he was able to contact the site hosts who set it all straight again, but it was “on the fritz” for a few hours…..no one could get onto the site until they got under the hood and took a look, then jump-started it.

Well, of course… the website gets fixed… hurray!

And when I get back here to post the side by side… my internet goes down.

But… for those as still want it…

it’s right here….

I do want to say… this would still be right on time for GoComics.

I’m curious as to what movie this is a clip from.
Searching “Google for image” brings up “scene” (which I already knew; thanks, Google)

8, how do you do a spoiler alert, so I can ask about a different difference? as it is not counted as one of the differences, why are the darker black lines around the dialogue in one and not the other counted as one?

Or if you actually want to know how to use it…
Type and then highlight the text or other content you want to hide…

Then click the [+] below.

A box will appear… Type in the box whatever you want it to say in the label (or tag) that people will actually see in your comment.

When you post.it, the highlighted part will disappear, leaving the label in its place.

When they touch or click that, your hidden content will appear.

I’m not really the one to say…

But AFAIK, the second panel is a copy of the first, and then changes are made to each in turn, so they.no longer look alike.

Line width is determined by the tool used to draw. Unless the software is different from any i know, even though his is more complicated than my simple Windows Paint, it would be difficult for Nighthawks to change the width of an existing line.

Besides, copying a picture in most software or on most computer screens is imperfect. Those lines look no more than maybe almost half a pixel different… It’s hard to have any greater accuracy when you paste a copy.

I can’t really answer for Nighthawks, but I can barely see that one balloon border might be a teeny bit bolder.

When I’m doing the solution, I ignore things that seem to be impossible for him to have done on purpose, like going over a curving line with a completely steady hand, making the whole length of it a totally even half-a-pixel wider, if that.

If in much doubt, if there’s time, I email him… but usually , like this time, there isn’t… So I just figure it’s probably not an intended difference.

Still looking for the last 2 of them. I’m just glad you got everything fixed. What did you have to do? Did you have to tell them that you knew the evil cat next door and that it would be a shame if they got a visit from the evil cat?

Found them all in just under 8 minutes.

Is there an explanation you can give us for what happened yesterday?
When I went looking to try some of the “fixes” posted on the ‘net one of them apparently had your “CleoandCompany” dot net domain name up for sale; while “CleoandCompany” dot com (I trust your lawsuit for misuse of name without permission is well on its way to completion) was working just fine.

It was that old web song, a DNS (Domain name server) error.

Alexi, I know you may understand some of the flowing better than I do…

but this is also for others who may want to know, though most of you probably don’t:

As I more or less understand it, or maybe as well as I can express it, in the middle of the night and being no programmer…

it was a glitch wherein the DNS “pointers” for the site (which are what tell browsers where to look for info on displaying a site, and for “certificates” that verify its ownership and security)

were apparently pointing at Cloudflare (the web security company that helps protect WordPress sites) instead of the proper servers.

IE, the certificates your browser found when trying to open the website didn’t belong to the place you were trying to reach, or match the ones it had it its records.

A browser will warn and try to redirect you if site certificates show different ownership than expected.

This is part of protecting you from hacked or maliciously redirected sites…. but it also “protects” you from glitches that accidentally misdirect traffic.

If you chose to proceed anyway, as I did, you were sent to a 404 error page on Cloudflare, which was not expecting your traffic.

An amateur description.

BTW I remember finding several websites for different Cleo and Company entities…

a salon called “Cleo&Co”, and a mysterious one, I think it was “Cleoandcompany.com” that doesn’t allow visitors… click and you get to a page that says “private website”

I can’t remember what else but I know there were a couple more….

This site didn’t show up in my search, but that was a month ago or so when it was very new.

Regarding domain names and websites you can equate me with a driver who can usually get where he wants to go but has no detailed knowledge of how the engine under the hood works.

What I picked up as the gist of your explanation was:

Equating the “pointers” you mentioned to a phonograph needle and the “cleoandcomany.net” website as the record on the turntable; somehow the record got dirty causing the needle to jump out of the groove and slide all the way to the centre of the record (“cloudfare”   which I also saw) without playing any of the content   🙂   I know what a “spider” is too   🙂   .

Am I close enough for Canadian government employee work (very wide latitude there)?

Um…. I guess. I don’t really understand your “center” (or centre) analogy.

To me it’s more like jumping into a groove on a different record, so the DJ grabs it before it can start playing the wrong music…

But whatever works for you is fine. Same idea.

I didn’t get the spider part, though… Unless it has something to do with the “web?”

I don’t mind giving out one difference I found, because I think its unlikely anyone else saw it. In the top panel, Cleo is acting like a whiny, spoiled brat. In the bottom panel, she is exhibiting exemplary restraint. I leave it to each reader to decide which is the original, and which the alteration.
