A ship that big has to draft at least 15 or 20 feet, but the light color near those rocks tells me it might only be half that.
Then… I don’t know a whole lot about ship architecture, and the poor resolution could be misleading…. but it looks like it has layers of open railings instead of planks and solid gunwales, the bow rising like a fancy breadbasket instead of the prow of a sturdy vessel, with all kinds of extra rigging going who knows where.
I’ll gladly stand corrected if there are ships like that I don’t know about… but the shallow draft and light construction make it look like a toy.
And yeah, the masts are awfully tall, the topsails higher than those hills.
I think that the worst thing about AI art is it makes us question all art.
It makes it that much harder for me when looking at legitimate art in impressionistic style. And i hate that because i love the impressionists and the surrealists.
It’s AI or terrible artistry. The top sails shows the wind blowing towards the viewer while the main sails are either flat or even blowing away from the viewer and finally the lowest main sail is blowing back to the viewer.
I don’t know if the program is still going, but one bunch of scientists wanted people to go to their website and tell them if you find one on the beach.
All the faces but one, AFAIK, are repeated multiple times. On one the fake grey “beard” is plastered over a black mustache, and in another spot, between two faces. Great work !
He looks nothing like Waldo, but he does appear to maybe have red glasses on…. And no beard.
And possibly look a bit more …um… I dunno.
I’ll just say if that’s Waldo this is not a great puzzle.
No glasses that I can see…. but then, I can’t see anything very well.
But he’s also repeated 4 times in that column, and 4 MORE in a matching column on the left side.
The one I picked is only in there once that I can see, which was one reason for my selection.
Both are kind of the most Western/least middle Eastern looking, but I don’t think either looks anything like Waldo.
I tried to search online for the solution but couldn’t find anything.
….
Not that it matters cos I didn’t think this one makes sense anyway…. But I don’t understand why you couldn’t delete your whole post using the “click to edit” link, and try again.
….
For future reference… Just in CASE this was the problem.
You can’t use the image link at lower right to put an image from your computer inside a spoiler box, if that’s what you tried.
It uploads the image directly, and can only attach it to the bottom of your comment.
It can’t upload anything inside the brackets in the code, even if your cursor was in there when you clicked it.
Inside the spoiler box you have to use a link to a site like Postimage, that’s already hosting the image online.
And if you edit a comment with an attached image, instead of a link, you have to click on the attachment to remove it.
I don’t always get the same options when I click “edit”. Sometimes there is a delete (as you say) and sometimes, that’s not there. Deleting the text in the box doesn’t delete the picture. I clicked every clickable link around that picture and comment; I refreshed and tried every one again. Yesterday (and maybe today) delete was not an option.
They are used in the Botanical Garden Munich to get rid of the walkingsticks in the greenhouses – but the latter have been vigorously reproducing lately…
Once again riding on that mystery train, the Midnight Express….
As it clickety-clacks its way through another animated episode of a great Sam Basset mystery.
An episode which soon… and severely….tests the intrepidity… um… intrepididity… er… intrepidness… of our favorite flap-eared shamus.
…
I mean… it’s understandable, isn’t it?
Even a chain-smoking basset hound hero’s studied nonchalance can only go so far…
when he’s face to face with a huge tower of self-described “Impaler!”
( BTW… for those who don’t or never did read “Frog Applause” on GoComics … As I believe I’ve said, Grace, sometimes known as Grace the Face, is from that strip, and may or may not be an alter ego of it’s creator, Teresa Burritt.
Vlad is also a Frog Applause denizen, though being an ex and infrequent reader, I’m not sure whether he’s ever been in the strip itself.
He hangs out in the Frog Blog, a sort of “extra” feature of the forum there, and sometimes seems to be Teresa’s assistant or bouncer.)
…
So… just how tall IS this guy?
And what the ¡@#¿¥! is the difference between mere “killing” and cold blooded MURDER?
….
I guess we won’t find out THIS week….
That’s how they get us to come back you know.
That’s how they fill the seats, and sell the kibblecorn.
Meanwhile… we still have a stiff in the floor of a Pullman compartment, and not much of an idea how he got that way.
Seems like everybody wanted to see that creep six feet under… but they all say they didn’t put him there.
A slight technicality: Vlad was kinda noncommittal …
But … he’s… um… I mean… well…. are YOU gonna argue with him?
When you look like THAT, ya know… you can get away with murder.
.
Isn’t she just the cutest? The pup is cute too.
Oh my goodness….
That’s an aawww and a half!
..
Skysails on a carrack? (Or possibly galeon…)
The whole thing looks a bit strange to me.
First off, how deep is that cove?
And if they are threading their way around the shallows, that’s a lot of sail to be showing.
I think that the worst thing about AI art is it makes us question all art.

And for all that sail, there is no wake.

Holyoks? Is that anywhere near Holyoke?
Pretty sure Boris’s doghouse isn’t going anywhere, no matter how strong the wind gets!
Maybe the chain is on Boris, who happens to be in the doghouse.
Maybe “Boris” is the name of the anchor (there are sillier things in this picture).
Charles Wysocki “Secret Passage Inn”
I’ve read about that.
They’ve appeared on both sides of the Pacific.
And in the Atlantic.
They’ve told us more about ocean currents than anything else before.
I don’t know if the program is still going, but one bunch of scientists wanted people to go to their website and tell them if you find one on the beach.
There is a place along the french coast where Legos wash up.
OUCHOUCHOUCHOUCHOUCH…
One long-suffering kitty!
I needed Wikipedia to confirm that the “Howard brothers” were originally the Horowitz brothers…
Just a slight change of “ethnic” identity.
Sigh….
..
Yes.
Much better than the movies.
YES!!!
,,.
Surely you jest.
(Yeah, Shirley probably does too.)
The resolution is too poor to detect glasses, or even some of the mustaches.
But Waldo is a drawing, not a photo… Maybe I’ll see him tomorrow, but I’m not holding my breath.
BTW what are the grey blobs?
Beards.
Which aren’t really attached to faces.
All the faces but one, AFAIK, are repeated multiple times. On one the fake grey “beard” is plastered over a black mustache, and in another spot, between two faces. Great work !
You don’t suppose….
Is supposed to be Waldo?
He looks nothing like Waldo, but he does appear to maybe have red glasses on…. And no beard.
And possibly look a bit more …um… I dunno.
I’ll just say if that’s Waldo this is not a great puzzle.
I tried to post a picture inside a spoiler box and it posted below. Now I can’t delete it.
Sorry if I spoiled it.
Tha’s okay. I can still barley see the red line around the blob.
No glasses that I can see…. but then, I can’t see anything very well.

Not with my eyes.
With whose, then?
Surely not mine… They’re not that good. 😁
…
Awwww! Just for me?
Rock out… But watch your head!
They are used in the Botanical Garden Munich to get rid of the walkingsticks in the greenhouses – but the latter have been vigorously reproducing lately…
I always thought walking sticks were harmless.
What bad stuff do they get up to there?
They’re harmless to us but can do quite a number on foliage (like, say in a Botanical Garden…).
Ah… Thanks.
And here we are again, fellow Cleoites…

Yes, my favorite!
