The latest installment of Indiana Bones and his legendary adventures. Is there nothing he can’t do?

I don’t know who timed the Indy animation, but WOW! It was timed to perfection!! Those arrows hitting the wall? Exceptional timing!

(amended 4/30 @ 1:15 PM ET)
[Of course, my tongue was firmly implanted in my cheek. The real person responsible for that flawless GIF was Nighthawks…..he does everything, including figuring out that perfect timing.
He sends it all to me, and I just enter the times in on the computer.
So, Nighthawks does about 98% (the artwork, the movements, the timing) and I do 2% (a little typing),
and yet he still graciously gives me equal credit. How cool is he, huh?]

Thanks, Tigressy, but that really should be Nighthawks, not me, that’s magical. Thanks for the thought, though.

So what? It still fits whether it’s you giving or deserving compliments!

No. I don’t think you DO know! I was trying to (clumsily and awkwardly) give you a complement. I look at that arrow sequence and it is so. well. done.

Sometimes, with so many other things going on in the comments, the feature of the day gets lost. So, I’m just trying to bring a little more attention to the work and creativity that goes into it. Not MY work and creativity, but YOURS!

Obviously a perfectionist with great skill.

So nice of you, StelBel, to give some recognition to one of the unsung, behind-the-scenes “little” people, who make comics-going what it is…

(sniffle…)

..

We’ll probably never know the identity of this toiler-in-obscurity who helps light up our monitors…

but never reaches the level of fame and riches accorded a renowned cartoonist like Nighthawks.

Oooo………why the sniffle, lil Sunshine? As I just said above, I thought that the tongue-in-cheek original comment would be more obvious, but it kinda bombed.

Yes, the little people like you, Princess Sunshine and me, the Queen of Tampering….we do our best to help out, but it’s the BIG KAHUNA, NIGHTHAWKS, who is the creative genius that drives this show! And, I thought that this particular GIF was a really good example of his skills. At least, it’s one of my very favorite GIFS.

Little did I realize last night that what I typed would be misconstrued. I was poking fun at ME, because it doesn’t take a whole lot of know-how to time the GIF…..nowhere near the skill and talent it takes to create it! What I forgot was that most people really don’t know how the animations are created. Nighthawks does the bulk of the work, and does it really well. My role is small.

Feel better?

I knew what you do for the animations…. and that it’s not a HUGE part… but you’ve always referred to it as doing the timing.

So yeah… In a way I misunderstood.

I thought your post was about yourself… and you were being funny, talking about what a great
job YOU did, pretending you didn’t know who did it…

But blowing on your fingernails nonetheless.

The same way I like to point out the number of miles I walk through the snow every week to bring the side by side.

And now it’s me being misunderstood!

I was mocking you

My sniffle had nothing to do with my minuscule contributions, or with anything about me…

I always reject the notion that I do anything worthy of a sniffle, much less tears.

I was merely sniffling because I was so darned touched by your kind concern for that unknown (cough) worker behind the scenes, who did such a heroic, but sadly unsung job…

just… sniffle… wiping a tear from my eye.

Now that I know you meant Nighthawks

Never mind.

But ok, it was a great moment of animation.

You are creative, clever, funny, and very very talented!

.The absolute despair of lives stepped upon by circumstances not of their making.
The spread arms of the main subject.
The downcast mien of the child on his left.
The woman bent in sorrow.
The ragged blanket swaddling the babe in front of her.

Here’s a more cheerful drawing from him.

A stirring, impassioned Depression-era drawing of a family at the end of its tether. We thought we had left that behind us after FDR.

Good morning, Cleo and Indiana Bones phans!

Our old friend Cliff Hanger is still alive after the encounter with the ark of the kibble, but what I want to know is why Yogurt from Spaceballs‘ face is carved on the wall behind it.

There’s only one National Day that counts IMO. Find the others in the next post.

National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day
Not shelter per se, but she’s a rescue nonetheless – she adopted us nearly 13 years ago at age 11 – months. Our cat is intolerant of other cats and gnarls at dogs.

National Bubble Tea Day
Club Mate. Check.

National Bugs Bunny Day
Eh…What’s up, doc?

National Honesty Day
I try to be honest every day.

National Oatmeal Cookie Day
Why not?

National PrepareAthon! Day
Fun fact: I ordered and received several of those (free) booklets from our (German) government mere weeks before Covid19 hit…

National Raisin Day
We like them. Soaked in rum preferably…

National Sarcoidosis Day
Too old for that hopefully…

National Military Brats Day
Not an easy life.

National Hairstylist Appreciation Day
Well – good luck.

National Arbor Day – Last Friday in April
Where they plant a young tree with pomp and circumstance while chopping down several old ones in silence?

National Hairball Awareness Day
Nearly every other day. See #1. – Better than bowel obstruction… sigh…

Kinda weird, but when I see National Military Brats Day, I envision a bunch of sausages marching down the road in formation, skinny carrots on their shoulders.

They need some chocolate chips and walnuts in them. But then they’d be called Cowboy Cookies, and would need their own day.

What a Hero! Indiana Bones can do anything! I’ll bet he’ll swing from a tree with his whip to escape, too.

Can’t wait! I’ll be glued to the same basset channel………..

The ancient curse inside that vase was put in there by the evil cat. When Indy eats it, Indy will become a cat and be like that forever.
