I had tried to post the following, or something very much like it, several times. Was able to post replies to other comments both before and after. It was the “unapproved comment” bit that really surprised me, since the original comment was from the site owner.
What I tried to say was that it was good of Ms. Kennedy to attend. She presumably realized that if anyone could understand Ms. King’s pain, it was her.
Hi Nighthawks,
I have been trying to post a reply to the photo of Jacqueline Kennedy and Coretta Scott King, but the website is not letting me do so. I keep getting a message in a red callout saying “Replies to unapproved comments are not allowed.” ??
I’m all right, Jack…

Except they’re Malinois, a type of Belgian shepherd.
I always think they look part jackal or hyena.

Sort of a bird’s eye view without having the bird’s eyesight.
If that’s really a Bald Eagle the aerodynamics really flatten out the feathers on the head!

Bet I can guess #20.
I hope so!
Have we had this one before?

Is that a tree behind the partition?
A very rustic location.
Looks icky but might be someplace you’re grateful just to have it.

What color is it?
Kinda chip color.
I think so…
Once again I changed the color to make it show up:
Cute, but oof. That’s got to be a lot of weight and a lot of muscle.

Gosh! I wonder what that is…
A bird?
That there is gorgeous.

Try again. It just worked for me.
that’s a new one on me—yes, try again
I had that happen to me. I figured the problem was on my end so i signed out and back in again. That fixed it.
¡Perro™ rides! ¡Perro™ rides!
The game is afoot, mis queridos y queridas!
He is valiant, and charming… but is nuestro Perro™ too cocky?
Could it possibly be as easy as he expects?
Or (gasp!) are the naysayers and skeptics right?
…
Sooo many questions!
The Padre, for example… is he behaving himself with that money?
I hope he’s not in cahoots with the evil Slurez to trap poor Perro™, in order to enrich the church coffers… or … ah!… to line his own pockets!
It’s the stuff of B movies, isn’t it?
In this story, though.. I don’t think so. Surely not!
Surely Nighthawks wouldn’t let that happen to the poor peasants!
(You, uh…wouldn’t…. um… would you, Nighthawks?)
…
And ..while I’m asking questions… . hmmm…. does Perro™ have a particular interest in Senorita Voluptuosa?
There’s just… I dunno… something about her… and something about her name… I can’t quite put my finger on it.
But I think Perro™ might want to.
…
Fernando, as ever, shows little emotion…
but his big basset eyes betray a certain… is it simply resignation?
Or is it sadness? Or worry?
I’d like to think it’s esperanaza…. hope!
Cheer up, Fernando… it all just might work!
…
At at last, we see Perro™ on his midnight mission…. will he indeed rescue the fair senorita?
Stay tooned!
( A tip for cartoon lovers…. you can tell it’s the middle of the night in a comic by the dots.)
