But i see reflections of plenty of crew.. or I think they’re crew.
Some are a little distorted by the water, but you can make them out.
On our right, see the reflections of the white sleeve of the fellow in the chair, and the thin white pole behind him….
Beyond the pole, you can make out an arm with a watch, and if you look closely, that man’s other arm and a white button.
In front of the fellow with the white sleeve, you see the spinal indentation in the shirt of the next guy… You can make out all three men if you compare with how they look above.
My thinking, in response to JP Steve’s query, was that he was asking about the actual filming of the show. Assuming that the water was meant to be seen as part of the set, and that the crew remained where they are now, how do you keep their reflections from showing up in the finished product?
That was my concern — all those people on set being reflected in the swimming pool. How do you film without somebody unexpected turning up as a reflection?
There are many behind-the-scenes fun facts like this next one. The Clampett family had a famous cement pond, one of the hallmarks of the show. On the show, the members of the family referred to the pond as their swimming pool, but in fact, this was not a swimming pool at all. This was a water tank located at the CBS Studio Center in California. The creators of the pond, or swimming pool, whatever you prefer to call it, have done an amazing job, considering this was almost fifty years ago. These days, many filming locations use real swimming pools, either in various locations or in the actual filming studios.
It looks to me like an SNJ / AT-6 Texan / Harvard (Navy / Army Air Corp / Commonwealth). A world war II trainer produced in greater numbers than any other plane. I got to ride in one; even got to fly it a bit. The pilot did some aerobatics and I barely got back on the ground in time to NOT puke.
That homer may now belong to the Soviet era trainer tt is still being made in the Ukraine.
They are being used by the Ukrainian air force in an anti drone role. They are not fast and they are maneuverable. Perfect for going after cruse drones.
Clara and Claude must have stepped down from the logo photoshoot to tell Cleo to move….
All those stars standing around, waiting to have the group portrait taken, when she decides to take a nap right in front of their carefully orchestrated session.
Does Cleo care? Does she listen? Will she move?
Come on, we’re talking about Cleo here.
Nighthawks, meanwhile, is trying to tell her how much the delay is costing the studio. She’s the figurehead of Cleo and Company Productions, and makes her living from the studio.
Shouldn’t she be concerned?
Like so much about our fair lady basset hound, it’s a puzzle. And I don’t have the answer.
But I do think I have the solution for the Find the Nine Differences part of the puzzle….
So if that will help…. (after you’ve given it a good try, yourself!)
Yeah right – the current cars are all sooooooooooo beautiful (cough).
VW Käfer, Citroën 2CV (called “Ente” in Germany), Renault R4 and Fiat 500 were modest and very practical cars.
As is our Mazda 121 (Kia Pride / Ford Festiva) from 1988 that passed the technical inspection a few weeks ago with flying colors and really low exhaust fumes values!
.
Awwwwww!
Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh! Cuteness overload!
on set, The Beverly Hillbillies
How’d they keep all of the reflections out of frame?
I see reflections of most of the people… Are we talking about different ones?
I an going to hypothesize that all the non-cast members were vampires, who have no reflections and do not show up on camera.
But i see reflections of plenty of crew.. or I think they’re crew.

Same with those on the left. The faces are clear.

Ah… Okay. We’re approaching from different angles.
When he said in the frame, and you said on camera, I thought you both meant they weren’t in the photo, so I was confused.
That was my concern — all those people on set being reflected in the swimming pool. How do you film without somebody unexpected turning up as a reflection?
Exactly!
This must be
the set of The Beverly Hillbillies….
I see Irene Ryan in costume as Granny.
What was going on, I do not know.
Yes…
She was instantly recognizable. Then Max was instantly recognizable.
The photo caption might have been a clue too…
That was added long after my comment.
This description….
A Swimming Pond

…comes from HERE.

I see nobody cleans off the park benches in your town either…
In fact, it looks more like a plow piled the snow onto them, in big chunks.

Call me a cynic, but I think that puppy is going to have trouble getting airborne with its wings dragging on the ground.

This is,
with some of her dogs.
I didn’t find a date, but it’s probably late 1940’s – early 1950s, when she was an older teen or young adult….
That was when she had a lot of spaniels. She’s always had several dogs, but she changed breed preferences over the years..
Later she started having Pekingese and then other small long haired dogs.
“Of course”?!?
Nice family portrait.
All my life Brown was credited with the kill — now some anonymous Australian gets the credit…
Claude Monet
.
You probably know…..
Did you remember….
Now this… “of course” I knew.
Elizabeth Taylor (above) never looked particularly anything, so I never recognize her.
,..
,,.,
Are those roses ?
Yeah, and we all know 4 roses would be the size of a swan, right?
The wings of the swan, the ripples in the water….
It all looks so natural…. Not.
I’ve seen stuff like that with 4 Roses
I was thinking about that after I posted those words, but 3 sounded too little and 5 too big for the size comparison. 😁
A hero!
Must have been the good stuff.
See above post. 😀
,.,,,
And being tormented by a red ant…
Not bad enough that he was caught on camera buck naked!
How much does he charge?
Too much; I don’t see any progress.
That’s me 🙂

Excelsior! I was stuck on X – 1 for quite a while, then presto!
Bingo!!!
Eight, I knew on whom the ninth one should be, but couldn’t see it…
7, one that I missed I knew had to be there but couldn’t see it.
Six tonight.
Seven…
I forgot how ugly they were.
Yeah right – the current cars are all sooooooooooo beautiful (cough).

From yesterday.
I went looking.

For the sake of exercising brain power, I’ll put the info in Spoiler boxes!
See? Wasn’t that fun?
LOL
I got the monkey right!
Guess what….it’s real.
This one is just plain
It’s just not Bollywood without the dancing.
Actually, I think it was made in Mexico, if not further south.
I love the top one.
“Weird” pretty well summed up the second one.
I think the trainer was scaring the bunny with that stick, and actually slowed it down.
Bunnies need quiet, gentle encouragement. They freeze when threatened.
