According to a caption on several sites: Barbara Rush, Carl Reiner, Henry Fonda, Jackie Cooper, Joan Staley, Tippi Hedren and Eddie Fisher
The only ones I recognized were Carl Reiner, Jackie Cooper and Eddie Fisher. That does not look like Henry Fonda, so I’ll have to take their word.
I’m not sure about the order of the last two ladies… I’m not familiar with Joan Staley. If we’re going strictly left to right, she’d be the one sitting down…. But that looks more like Tippi Hedren to me. Anybody?
But only two people are carrying folders…. which have their names on them, and those big stickers, maybe bumper stickers, for the 1964 Lyndon Johnson/Hubert Humphrey presidential ticket.
That was the only year Johnson ran directly for that office, after stepping into it from the vice presidency when John F Kennedy was shot. He defeated Barry Goldwater in a landslide.
Makes me wonder whether this was some sort of political get together.
I saw King Kong at a Saturday matinee as a kid, and it confused me that Kong kept changing sizes.
I didn’t understand how movies were made, or that it was old, or that the effects were pioneering…. I didn’t even really understand that he was … it still pains me to say… fake.
Here, he and the dinosaur are the size of what look like normal trees…
There are scenes where he’s not much bigger than his human captors, and other scenes where Fay Wray fits in his enormous hand.
I asked my Dad, who told me King Kong was a giant monster, and I should stop asking stupid questions.
I thought you meant Terri was mistakenly on this list… but I don’t see her.
If we were doing one for 2024 it would have to include James Earl Jones, Maggie Smith, Bob Newhart, Paul Reubens, Dr. Ruth, Shelly Duvall… and many others.
She just came to my still tired mind.
Of course; and this week’s “Sonntagsrätsel” featured musicians, composers, conductors etc. who left us last year.
Francoise Hardy, Damo Suzuki, Hans Hammerschmid, Kinky Friedman…
I found out about this from the London “Daily Mail.” Boris Karloff and Vincent Price on the “Red Skelton” show (singing and they’re on key too / Skelton’s barging in on his guests is one of the main reasons I was never a fan / let the guests shine in their own right).
Winter fun (they must have been kitten and puppy together).
‘Paluel Castle’, or ‘Château de Paluel’ in French, is a 15th-century building. It is located in ‘Saint-Vincent-le-Paluel’, in the Périgord Noir, in France, if you hadn’t worked that out already.
.
I’m not sure why the outhouse needs it’s own defensive wall though!!

Wet Willie! Sort of.
..
I think I should know him…
Do you feel lucky?
Just in case you don’t feel lucky….
Or don’t know the reference….
No way!
Way!
Nothing turns us all into kittens like puppies.
It’s Family Photos day! Which one are you, Nighthawks?
I don’t know the occasion….

then there’s the guy in the window
Mother?
The names on the folders might be a clue.
LOL… I couldn’t read them last night.
Today I see that one answers my question… I was right about those two ladies being out of order in the caption.
I was closer with the guy and the dog…
Why is that blue sticker “Johnson” in color??
No idea, but it looks like an old political bumper sticker.
I don’t know why it’s in color either…

Nope.
Her birthplace isn’t much bigger today than it was then.
I hope he’s not the one trying to throw her over (the edge).
From 1933
The full movie is here (it doesn’t post as a video / open in a new window so you don’t lose this page).

Sorry, Dad, but that’ll never happen.

Teri Garr (October 2024)
And dozens more, in 2024.
I thought you meant Terri was mistakenly on this list… but I don’t see her.

Sucking up to the favorite.
I wonder what this pooch did to develop a fan club.

Kiki!

I’ve set this up to begin at Sedaka’s introduction on Saturday, December 12, 1964, age 25 (the whole show is there if you want it.).
ZING!! Master Slam from Ms. Cleo!
…and she didn’t even need a flame-thrower.
I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t love these cartoons.
LOL

Camouflaged rocket launch silo.
As the old saying goes…. you don’t want to be caught with your pants down.
Mother-in-law unit.
I have got to remember to steal that joke from Cleo!
Reminds me of a “Twilight Zone” episode we’ve encountered here before.
Masks and true faces plus an inheritance.
From today’s London “Daily Mail” (sent it by a reader).
Boo! 😀
