This is a lemon shark, which according to my search, if approached calmly and respectfully, is mostly friendly towards humans, and enjoys petting and belly rubs.

A few have attacked people though, mostly fisherman, if made to feel threatened.

Too many provisos for me to feel comfortable with swimming with them…

Of course, your mileage may vary.

… to the bench there, and there is, Group W’s
where they put you if you may not be moral enough to join the army after
committing your special crime, and there was all kinds of mean nasty ugly
looking people on the bench there…

Both container look to have the same volume. Of course it depends on who can be prone on the dock and lift it up. Also depends upon whether the spouts can be closed.

I almost didn’t notice the line of people walking on the far side of the street. See all the fancy dresses, parasols and high silk hats?

This is 5th avenue, on a Sunday, after church. The street is lined with mansions, including the Vanderbilt home, the light-colored one with a spire.

Beyond that, my search results disagree, even from reputable sources.

Wikipedia and one other site say it’s the Easter Parade, in 1898. Other sites say it’s 1888 or 1890, and don’t mention Easter. An article in the New York Times says the rich people promenaded on 5th Avenue every Sunday after church, in the “late 1800s”.

A site called the Hulton Archive gives no date or occasion…. but gives this description:

“View of the West side of Fifth Avenue, North from 51st street, showing residences of Elliott F. Shepard, brother in law of William K. Vanderbilt, whose home is next to it. Further North is St. Thomas Episcopal Church and 5th Avenue Presbyterian Church, New York City. (Photo by Hulton Archive/Getty Images)”

Yes, I fell down the rabbit hole…. sigh….

It does look more like a promenade than a parade…

Also much more like 1889 than 1898, to me, though some of the ladies dresses could be even earlier.

By 1898, I think sleeve tops and hats would be bigger, bustles smaller. There’s one lady on the close side, probably elderly, wearing the feathered turban and sloping shoulders of the 1870s.

But the Easter parade was a promenade in the 19th century… rich people getting out of church, walking from church to church, to see each other and the Easter flowers, and then along 5th avenue.

Journalists calling it a parade was almost snide, at first… It was an ostentatious display of wealth, but there were no bands or military troops or horses till the 20th century.

As I understand it, it only differed from a normal Sunday promenade by more participation, newer clothes, and some wearing or carrying flowers.

One hand high? Not very impressive if you’re a horse…

I dunno… I think the average horse is about 15 hands high.

I, myself, am 16½ hands high, which is kind of tall for a horse, and I’m pretty damn impressed.
I think an average horse would be too.

Okay… yes… I’m measuring me from the top of my head, and you measure a horse from the withers, so technically, to the top of his head, a horse is usually a bit taller than me.

But I still don’t think ol’ Dobbin is gonna stick around and play with those guys.

Not too impressive unless you have a scale for the hand. In an adult’s hand impressive, tween, MEH. Younger than 8 not that interesting.

This is Petco Park, home of

this baseball team…
the San Diego Padres

(just so I don’t spoil anybody’s guessing.)

The Western Metal building has been preserved, but it’s now fully part of the stadium.

Inside, along with whatever else it’s used for, there are some displays of historical photos of the surrounding area, and of artifacts dug up when the stadium was built.

I don’t know what to think.

Searching this painting, I found similar ones by half a dozen different artists, if the attributions are to be believed.

But the only information revealed for this one, is that it’s on DeviantArt, a site I don’t trust, credited to “MythicalArtist 34”, with no description other than “digital artist.

Does that mean someone is just taking credit for it on DeviantArt, a situation I’ve seen before… or it’s actually AI.

I don’t like either answer!

Not playing for me. I click on it and it takes me to imager and it’s just grey screen.
But the play bar at the bottom is showing it playing.
I wonder if it would work better ifs joined imager.

It works fine for me…. But I don’t like the way Imgur images post.

Tiny, sliding around in the middle of a big black rectangle instead of using the full space to display the image.

That’s one of the changes, they don’t want to be an image hosting/serving site any more, the new owners are chasing the almighty dollar and have trashed the site in the process.

She said in an interview that when the movie came out and she was being interviewed she would say the name Pussy Galore as many times as she could just to watch the set directors and hosts wince.

And at the Bond Exhibit at the International Spy Museum in DC she isn’t even mentioned. Have to say, the exhibit was a let down. And the Museum, being private, is on the pricier side. Got my money’s worth by staying for 5.5 hours.
