I see you’ve deleted your comment about the answer to #15, I’m guessing it’s because the EWC got to your spoiler box (you’re going to have to do something about that cat, nighthawks).
Clicking on the link below will take you to my attachment about spoiler box usage. If I did not make it clear enough, tell me and I’ll try again.
Hi, Alexi. Thanks for your great answer. It will have to wait for the weekend for me to do it over. (doctors’ appointments and such) Your link IS clear, thanks again.
.
Ok… A quick run through…
1. Broken heart… (Some version seems to show up in every other puzzle.)
2. Up in arms
3. Right in the middle of everything
4. Head over heals (sic) in love.
I’m sure it was meant to say “head over heels”
5. ….?
6. Reading between the lines
7. Very interesting
8. Misunderstanding between friends
9. Fight back?
It’s awfully diagonal for that… still trying to think of an answer involving corners or some such
10. Walking tall
11. Either “Time after time”…
Or “time and time again”.
Which do you like?
12. Touch up
13. Six of one kind, half a dozen of another
But I think it should have been six of one thing, not kind.
14. Rising costs?
If so, why is it backwards?
15. Sock in the eye?
16. Paradise!
Still thinking about a couple of these.
And a few clues seem not very well designed.
Yeah, I must have been half asleep.
Saw it right away the next time I looked.. and Alexi posted it too.
Susan! Where have you been? I’ve missed you over on GoComics!
Dani .. Great to see you!
Mostly here .. and/or sleeping different hours…
…
Thank you!
I miss everybody there, too… I’ve been thinking about that.
I’ll try to do better.
Meanwhile, really hope you’ll join us here, too!
Franklin Booth
Love Franklin Booth….
I think this one was advertising the first transcontinental phone lines.
A caption for the Franklin Booth drawing I found elsewhere on the web. It comes from….
… here

Wow, my memory still halfway worked.
Great Plains!
Good night people and pets.
Confound it, Cleo!
You took the words right out of my mouth…
And Claude’s.
Now why were we all thinking the same thing?
I never saw Claude quite so angry.
Here are my answers (and 2 ?):
2) up in arms
3) right in the middle of everything
4) head over heels in love
5) neon lights
6) reading between the lines
7) very interesting
8) a misunderstanding between friends
9) ?
10) walking tall
11) time after time
12) touchdown
13) six of one, half a dozen of the other
14) ?
15) a punch in the eye
16) paradise
I may have come up with the answer to #9.
Could be right… But if so, the clue doesn’t really represent it very well.
Since there’s no suggestion of “for a’.
It’s more like “angled fight” … Which makes no sense.
I can’t make any of these accounting cost names fit with #14 and the ‘net was no help.
Controllable Costs
Direct Costs
Fixed Costs
Indirect Costs
Operating Costs
Opportunity Costs
Sunk Costs
Variable Costs
Isn’t it supposed to be a stranger calling?
Mind you, Cleo does have some pretty strange callings….
l
Here is….
…a really interesting article to accompany this poster.
,..
This reminds me of Lex Luthor’s hide out in Superman.
My thought too.

Hey, this is WEDNESDAY. Just how far do you have to go to see your doctor? Montana isn’t a 3rd world country, ya know. 🙂
Good morning Balladeers, (((((Plods))))) and Miss Susan.
C’mon, Claude, Cleo is just trying to have a little fun.
Another former Sherpa
Good morning…. my original post is still under review. I forgot about links.
Afaik, they never get out of the supposed review…
You have to figure out what’s wrong and repost it.
But what did you forget about links?
Go they give you a problem?
….
Meanwhile… I don’t get the comic.
Well, here’s my guess after looking at the lyrics:
If there was a problem yo I’ll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it
It seems review appears when I post nationals. Unless good morning did it. I’m gonna check Tuesday’s
Ok. I officially have no clue as to why. It was no different from any other day.
