I don’t know about all the photos, but many

are from
Arsenic and Old Lace.
Which starred,
among others,
Cary Grant and Raymond Massey.

Yup.

All, I’d say.

Also pictured are…

Their cast mates….
Peter Lorre, Priscilla Lane, Jean Adair, and Josephine Hull

Trivia… the lead role was intended to be given to Bob Hope.
I’m so glad it wasn’t! It would have been a different movie entirely.

And the 2nd fellow you mentioned has had surgery by the mad doctor, in the movie, to look like Boris Karloff.

It’s a joke cos on Broadway, the role was famously played by Karloff, who couldn’t leave the play to do the movie.

The two policemen

are played by…
Jack Carson and Edward McNamara.

Many years ago I directed a high school production of the play and have always enjoyed the movie version as well.

Hi! Welcome to Cleo and Company!

Yes, and the first one got second billing on the poster I saw!

Thanks. I’ve been lurking here for a while after having been recruited from That is Priceless on GoComics by Number__Six to begin commenting on Ballard Street.

One of my all-time favorite movies.
Oh – and Josephine Hull starred in “Harvey”, too…

Poor deers. Stuck in the rain… and they’re not rain deer.

They have a few bucks, to buy some umbrellas, but the shop is closed.

Dentist appointment next week! Be kind to me!!!

(actually, Sarah, my hygienist, is very sweet and thorough. She hardly ever cackles with fiendish glee whenever she finds a plaque pocket!)

Ok, Mr. Mayor, it looks like it’s time to activate The Deer Plough!

I get to drive!

Oh no you don’t, you drove last time!

Mr. Mayor!!!

Mrs. Mayor says, “Move over boys, it’s MY turn!!!”

(The deer beat a hasty retreat).

Okay… without looking at Alexi’s (or anybody’s)

My try…

1. Big fuss over nothing
2. Growing old
3. Two peas in a pod.
4. ? (It doesn’t seem to make hip hip hooray.)

5. ?
6. Apple of my eye
7. The cherry on the cake (isn’t that mixing up two phrases?**)
8. Break a leg!

9. Cutting corners
10. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
11. Cut the cheese.
12. Feeling under the weather

13. (Maybe..) Giving a hand with things?
14. Get in shape? (If that’s right there should only be one, though)
15. ?
16. Long story short? (But that doesn’t explain the tall “long.”)

** ( It’s the cherry on top, or the icing on the cake.)

14) You are right, but with only one shape, you would think something specific, like “triangle” or “circle. With three different things, you are forced to stay vague, and think “shape(s)”. 😊

I got some, but not all.

I think 4 is:
Hip Bump, as it looks like a speed bump perhaps?
