Used to still be a pretty common type of display, especially for comic books, even when I was a kid, though IIRC, only current issues, and they would try to keep them organized.

There’s some pretty good Sc-fi being written now.

Aww… I have to give him a like, just in case he’s jealous of all those gorgeous, extremely colorful birds we’ve been seeing.

I believe that is a she, and she is beautiful.

Yeah, I should have said “she.”

And even though she’s beautiful…. like most of us females, she’s probably not feeling secure about her looks, when compared with more glamorous types.

Yesterday i went to lunch with a bunch for a birthday get together.
Since some nice shots of the bridge in Newport was posted i wanted to post some photos of the little bridges in Depoe Bay. Well, the weather really sucked so i only got two photos yesterday. I’m planning on going back today so i’ll get some better shots.
I say bridges because there was originally just one two lane bridge there. When it was decided that the town needed four lanes they didn’t demolish the old bridge, they added another one right next to it. Two bridges, one roadway.

Last time I was in Depoe bay the weather was nice, the ocean was calm, and there were no spouting horns. I was deeply disappointed. Maybe next time.

To see the spouting horns you must be here when the swells are high.
There was a king tide yesterday, but no spouting because small swells.

I’m actually impressed that when they added the second bridge the DOT appears to have made it similar to the original. I’ve seen a number of places where the DOT didn’t match them – either too expensive or better/newer engineering. I’ve also been places where they left the old bridge, bypassing it completely but leaving it for historical reasons. Obviously at Depoe Bay there wouldn’t have been room for that. (And it is one of the eleven famous Conde McCullough designed bridges.) I’ll be taking a better look next time in the area!

The weather was sucky again today. And for some reason town was full of tourists so I just went into the harbor instead of trying to find parking, then braving the weather. This is a plack placed in the harbor.
