QT jumped out a window again. I didn’t fall chasing her this time. I changed tactics and called her instead. When she saw me i turned away and she fallowed me!!! 😀 We seem to be making some kind of progress.

When you first said the words “Border collie” it was a clue… 🙂

They’re smarter than us.

Occasionally they let us win.

Eventually, if you’re lucky, they let you earn a not quite equal partnership. LOL

Awww… Did you name him Brad?

….

Well, somebody had to say it!

If I didn’t, somebody else would have later.

I’m not really here yet, but I had to grab the opportunity, cos I’m so seldom early.

LOL.

….

Now if you’ll excuse me…

I’ll be back.

Wasn’t that the former caption?

Yes… the former dialogue, anyway…

Claude originally set up Cleo for that line… it comes from an oldish and somewhat obnoxious TV commercial.

Nighthawks changed her response because it’s getting out of date.

He wanted the strip to stay relevant, even when the commercial was long forgotten,,,

But Claude still sets up that line… so some of Cleo’s public just refuse to let go.

Imagine.

Hey! – We’re not here for fun!
Cleology is a serious matter that takes years to master; decades even.
Many try.

The subtitle in the video:

The “shrimp lock” that I used on this piece is a particularly complex one, and making it was tough.

The attachment below is a magnified screen snip of that shrimp lock. It comes from:   HERE.
Done using hand tools.

At first, I thought you meant that you were all through using hand tools, which I thought was an odd conclusion to come to. THEN, after the 3rd or 4th reading (and also, watching the video), I realized finally that you were saying, ” done [made] with hand tools.”

Just had to share how clueless I can be at times! lol

Y’all have some macaroni, take a walk, spend some time at the dive bar and top it off with a strawberry sundae.

To go with your strawberry sundae.

From:
“The Bartender’s Bible” by Gary Regan
Published by: Harper Collins 1991
Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 91-55104

STRAWBERRY MARGARITA

2 teaspoons coarse salt
1 lime wedge
11/2 ounces tequila
1/2 ounce strawberry liqueur 1 1/2 teaspoons Cointreau or triple sec
1 1/2 ounces lime juice
1 strawberry

Place the salt in a saucer. Rub the rim of a cocktail glass
with the lime wedge and dip the glass into the salt to coat
the rim thoroughly; discard the lime. In a shaker half filled
with ice cubes, combine the tequila, strawberry liqueur,
Cointreau, and lime juice. Shake well. Strain into the cock-
tail glass and garnish with the strawberry.

Margarita — name: (Of possible interest to MontanaLady)
Margarita is a feminine given name in Latin and Eastern European languages, originally derived from Persian
Morvared meaning ‘pearl’, which is cognate with the Sanskrit मञ्जरी (mañjarī) meaning ‘pearl’ or ‘cluster of
blossoms’. In Latin it came from the Greek word margaritari (μαργαριτάρι), meaning pearl, which was
borrowed from the Persians. The flower daisy is called margarita in Spanish, Greek and other languages. The
name is also used in Albanian, Greek, Bulgarian and Russian. Margarita is a variant of the likewise Persian-
origin given name Margaret.
The traditional short form of this name is Rita.

When I had the job I retired from, this guy from So. America had to come into my office. He always greeted me with Hello Señorita Rita.

And, my favorite is a Strawberry Margarita. Smooth……

It looked interesting, but the best I could find is goreng translates to “fried” in Malay. Sempoi seems to translate to “cool or awesome”. Looking up goreng sempoi, there are a lot of different dishes, identified with modifiers such as macaroni, nasi (rice), etc. Like this one, most look pretty tasty.

Cleo is one of those that makes her own rules.
I enjoyed the New York video. Sure glad we’ve relaxed our wardrobe!
