I’m not sure about the perspective here… Is the slug coming out of a jet outlet, it maybe drain hole, in the side of the tub?
Well, whatever it’s coming out of, I’m here to tell you it’s very possible.
I used to get an occasional slug, maybe one or two a winter, when it was rainy, coming out of the drain hole in my bathtub. How they got into the pipes, hopefully only the waste pipes, I have no idea.
They were smaller than this one looks, the longest maybe 2 or 2½ inches. When one showed up, it would knock the drain protector out of the way, then just stay in the tub, not moving… probably tired from the long climb, and disappointed not to have reached whatever slug paradise it was expecting to find. I never saw one elsewhere or even trying to climb out.
I’d (squeamishly, I admit) pick it up in a fold of paper towel, and usually (don’t hate me) toss it into the yard waste bin, where it could eat leaves or whatever till garbage pick-up day, and not find my garden.
Nowadays I have no garden, but the yard waste can is also for food waste, which I wrap in newspaper. The slugs would probably be happier with that, but I haven’t seen one in at least a dozen years. Maybe some other house offered more appealing accomodations. Fine with me!
Right in the center, left to right, and one or one and a half rows down from the top, depending on how you count…
There’s a lavender toaster you’ll recognize by the slice of golden toast popping up from the top.
It’s none of those things they’re trying to fool you into thinking are toaster slots. They’re not.
A territorial red-winged blackbird attacks a red-tailed hawk by riding its wing high above a nature area in Longmont, Colorado. The blackbird is protecting its nesting area.
Well, they’re not little compared to a wren or a mouse, but compared to that hawk they’re tiny… And they don’t care.
I used to drive though a wetlands area between here and Sacramento where a lot of them nested… There were a lot of shorebirds and hawks as well.
If something disturbed them they’d rise up in a flock, and zoom around looking for something to attack.
I didn’t realize that’s what they were doing, but I told a friend and he said never pull over and stop on the shoulder along that stretch. I honestly think he was exaggerating, but I wasn’t about to test it.
We were in Grand Rapids (MI) a couple years ago and the hotel staff warned us not to go out through the front door as there were a pair of red-wings nesting there. We didn’t heed the advice and were dive bombed. Yikes! Their beaks are sharp!
We used the back door by the parking lot for the rest of our stay.
I love this paper doll strip… But it not only left big holes in my old tablet, it chipped my scissors when I cut it out…
And those tabs were really hard to bend.
Yeah yeah… I know it says to print it out, but what’s a person going to do when she doesn’t have a printer?
And yeah, the mustaches were almost impossible.
BTW… I have no idea why, cos it’s not a favorite song, though I do like it… but that Sam Cooke record has been an earworm for me since it was new. Every now and then it just starts playing in my head, especially if something triggers it, like…. noticing that it’s Saturday.

Susan! Come down from there! You’ll scare yourself to death!
Are you kidding?
Well, yeah, I know you are.
But honestly, I’d have fainted long before I got up there, if it weren’t for the fact that I’d never try.

Aw, what a good bunny. He brought an apple for the teacher.

Susan, you were wise to heed his advice.
