You people are dropping the ball. I cannot be the first commenter on any C and C.
I had no idea that Bea Arthur starred in the original human translation of this legendary musical. This is why I come here – to be informed of historic nuggets that would otherwise go unrecognized.
This is another beautiful poster from the pen (stylus?) of Stel Bel. Moving – – and educational!
Thanks! It’s a great musical and I just love the poster, which was done by an artist by the name of Tom Morrow. He did a few other posters for Broadway, as well.
This one reminded me of Marc Chagall’s art, which is why I posted “The Rooster”.
If there ever was a favorite musical for this Lady, it would be Piddler on the Woof!!!!! Thank you, Stel for bringing this to our local screen! No need to break in NH’s perfect birthday present tonight. Maybe next week.
My computer got into a fight with my password. My computer proceeded to beat the snot out of my password because it just wasn’t strong enough to defend itself
Well, now I know what Bert Convy did before becoming a perennial game show host/contestant/panelist.

This is a fun poster! As usual, the names are great. The title made me laugh out loud. You can never go wrong at the HoundDog Theater ~ especially in the summer, since it is air-conditioned.

Well, thanks for picking up the ball and running with it, LM !!! I appreciate it!
And, thanks for the nice words, as well!
(I was surprised about Bea Arthur, as well!)
Don’t drop in so early!
I love everything about this. 🙂

The explanation clarifies the choice. Thanks.
I’m with Happyx3; it’s a wonderful poster!
The actual stage sets were purposely designed to look like a Chagall painting, and Morrow went along with that that theme.
But he forgot to put in any basset hounds.
What is with all the piddling jokes? Yesterday it was piddling in the bushes, and on Ballard Street it was piddling on the foot.
As far as I know, just coincidence, at least on my part…..I swear!

And tomorrow get ready for some fart jokes
Why wait?
Very classy.
Chagall and this musical go hand in hand.

If I were a rich man……………….
I can’t wait to play all the videos tomorrow when I can crank the sound up.
Don’t you live far from other humans? Or does Rocket Man disdain loud music at night?
Rocket Man was already asleep. I now enjoy the music at full blast!
My favorite song was, If I Was a Bitch, Man
I didn’t get a chance to post this yesterday, but I cannot miss pecan pie day, my favorite

Good morning, Philm & Theater phans!
This Stel-lar theatre poster is another top effort by our resident artiste. I loved Bassetel’s “If I Were the Top Dog.”
NATIONAL FRENCH FRY DAY
COW APPRECIATION DAY
NATIONAL DELAWARE DAY
NATIONAL BEANS ‘N’ FRANKS DAY
Safety first… open all windows and extinguish any open flames before enjoying the beans and franks.
Y’all stay out of the cow pastures if you’re barefoot. (((((HuGz!)))))
…
Beautiful!
No lipstick?
I love those Scottish Highland cows… they look like they’re crossed with yaks.

That was great, Perky!!! Thanks!
Hm. That reminds me of something
I didn’t pay attention to the URL… just noticed “crumb“, and was somehow expecting R. Crumb…
And I thought… “Hmmm… . that’s an odd choice for Perkycat…”
….
But it wasn’t.
And yeah… we know who we are. 🙂
