I just came back. And I was sneaky…..I enlarged the picture! I saw it right away. WooHoo!

I had a harder time with this one than with most of these.

But ever since I found the umbrella, I can’t even glance at the puzzle without seeing it…

And it seems almost impossible that I ever could.

I came back this morning and took another look. Yikes! There it is!

Now I’m with you, it just jumps out immediately.

That’s me when I can’t sleep through the night. Probably with the TV on and turned down so low I can’t understand the words, so it’s just a drone.

I do the same thing with my dryer.
It has a hum/drone that is hypnotic.

Is that Chris lying on the couch? Or underneath it?

That was pretty amazing. It’s terrible what some people do to animals. If they are lucky, a Takis comes along to show them love.

That poor doggie. Thanks for showing the video, NH. What a happy ending!

Well, Claude, most of these chairs have a Lift function, and that one definitely gave you a lift!

MONTANA LADY, for my birthday my wife gave me a pierogi press, and two cookbooks: Perfect Pierogi Recipes, and Treasured Polish Recipes. What is she trying to tell me?

That the menu is down to potatoes and cabbage for awhile? With a few other fillers once in awhile?
Or, maybe it’s time that you became the chef for awhile so she can lay back on the couch reading love stories and eating chocolates.
Guess you’ll have to ask her which one she is in favor of.

These books go way beyond potatoes and cabbage! And she favors crime stories, but yeah, same general idea.

That she wants pierogis, of course! Made with love by her husband.

Or that she wants a break from cooking.

We take turns cooking, one week each. That includes all the shopping and cleanup.

I only do about 50% of the cooking as my hand allows. MMM does all the cleanup, as always.

Since Covid hubby does most of the shopping. Our regular store didn’t take the sanitizing seriously (although that has proven to be less problematic), you had to bring in the cart yourself and THEN sanitize it. After you’d touched it for a couple minutes.

I usually go with him to the other stores.

We split up a lot of the prep and cooking, most of the clean up – except hand-washing things that don’t go in the dishwasher. That falls on me.

Can’t complain though. He always takes care of gassing up my car and getting it in for maintenance/repairs. Mows the lawn. Does any yard work that requires a ladder.

We split the laundry mostly – he seems to take more of it on, although any needed mending or ironing is mine.

It all works out.

I have an electric recliner, but no remote. It just has a button on the side, thankfully. Although, some days lately I could use that ‘Do Not Touch’ button…….but, maybe a gentler one. He will NEVER learn, Cleo.

Somehow I missed the hardcover publication of “Fair Warning” by Michael Connelly. I was at the library yesterday, and it was on display in the new paperback section.
I can’t say that I remember the protagonist, Jack McEvoy from any other novel although he was first written for “The Poet” in 1996, “The Scarecrow” in 2009 and one each appearance with Harry Bosch, and Mickey Haller (which I’ve also forgotten).
Connelly has written him a fair bit harder than Bosch or Haller, but his plotting hasn’t gone down one bit. I’m enjoying it.
Another good thing is the back-of-the-book blurb which says that Renée Ballard is back with Harry Bosch in “The Dark Hours” this November (I’m number 30 in the hold line on the large print edition / better than 325 on normal print).
I just finished “NYPD Red 6” by Patterson and Michael Karp. It was readable, but that series has started to slide with this one. I hope the latest Michael Bennett book “The Russian” with James Born (45 on 28 copies) doesn’t show the same slide. I’m also reading “Those Who Wish Me Dead” by Michael Koryta (the first of his I’ve ever read, but I’ll be looking for others, it’s good). .

One more review and I’m off. If you’re tempted to try the Apple TV series “See,” I wouldn’t bother. The premise is ridiculous and its writers do nothing to improve its credibility (the liberal use of obscenities doesn’t help either).
The next time you hear someone using countless obscenities in a conversation, substitute “umm” and hear how dumb they sound.

I,

wonder what would happen if Claude came across a button that said “Touch Me.”

Found the umbrella, too.

I keep seeing mention of “burnt ends”… especially in Charlie Podrebarac’s “Cowtown” …
But I’ve never seen anything called that on a menu here in California.

Thanks for showing me what they look like!

Now if we only had “Real-Food-Eat-O-Vision” on WordPress…

Hey! Maybe the pooch is looking for those KC BBQ ends.
Regardless, Phydeaux is going to be in serious need of a bath when they get home.

Wow! I missed a whole lot of history. I lived in California many years and never heard of Chicken Boy or the Chicken Boy Restaurant or the Chicken Boy movie or the Chicken Boy polka. I feel deprived!!

I had to break down and get one of those lift chairs. I was hurting my back too much otherwise. my remote doesn’t have one of Claude’s special buttons, though.

I LOVE the two Glen”s songs! What a joy to listen to them both

My neighbor got sort of thrown out of hers the first time she tried it… It came up too fast and she wasn’t ready.

She wasn’t injured except for a couple of sore muscles and a slightly pulled shoulder, because she caught herself on a table with her good arm, and didn’t fall all the way to the floor.

She had post polio syndrome, with very weak legs… walked with a cane indoors, but generally used a wheelchair outside.

Her legs needed more time to get balanced and ready to stand than the chair allowed,

So after that, she only let it rise about half as far as it would go (which wasn’t even as high as Claude’s chair went) , and finished standing up by herself.

Once she got that figured out, she and the chair were good friends.
