People don’t realise thatevery time you cut out a piece of the painting, and move it “off” a surface, you have to paint in the part that was uncovered, and match it perfectly….
and everything is moving independently, in different rhythms,,, tons of frames.
I think Picasso would like it…
though from what I’ve heard about him, he would probably have charged the animator to use his work.
I like this movie (although I’ve only seen the human version) !
I found and watched it online a few years ago because it was mentioned in a comment on GoComics.
It has managed that rarity of rarities; improving upon the written story (I suspect the credit for that goes to the basset universe writing team with sub-credit to the human film makers who kept the improvements).
I must have been doing something else when the credits were rolling at either end of the movie because I didn’t know (or didn’t really remember the comment) that Stepnen King wrote it, so it wasn’t until a couple of years after that I finally read it.
As I said the movie improved the written story.
Sadly, the “message tree” is no more.

Tie cloves, cinnamon and lemon slices in cheesecloth bag. Heat cider and brown sugar to boiling; add spice bag; let simmer 10 minutes. Remove bag; serve cider in mugs with dash of nutmeg on top.
Serves 5.
Note from me, for an extra “kick,” use hard (alcohol) cider, and when mulled, mix room temperature un-mulled hard cider, and mulled cider 1/2 & 1/2.
Hard to believe this is the last day of September. Do we really have to love people???
Stephen King is a great storyteller. Almost had me believing in vampires after reading one book. And he sure didn’t do anything for a clown’s image.

What a cute dog! Good on her for getting accommodation for him.
I don’t often take the time to watch videos, but this was inspiring. A wonderful story with a very happy ending.
All I can say is…….
WOW!
Three Dog Night as painted by Picasso?
Wow… it’s so smooth,,,,’
someone put a lot of work into that animation!

I love the Shawkennel Redemption…
Nice work, Stel…
great cast and a great film, as well.
When it came out, though, I didn’t go see it… along with too many of the movie-going public.
I figured, nah… kennel movie. Dank. Dark. Dull. And maybe violent.
Or maybe one of those contrived “buddy capers.”
I got talked into it years later, by a friend …
but I never saw it in a theater, when there was a chance, and i wish I had.
….
By now, its audience has grown, and it’s considered a beloved classic.
It’s so far the highest-ever rated film by visitors to IBMDb…
the Internet Basset Movie Database… and on lists of the top all-time movie rentals.
A lot of people don’t know it’s actually based on a novelette by Stephound King,,,
quite different from his usual horror output…
yet he says it’s his favorite film adaptation of his work.
(unless he just says that to all the films.)
…
Fans still travel to the 3 small towns where it was filmed, to visit the decommissioned kennel….
where they can buy a bundt cake baked in its shape…
and or some souvenir rock hammer magnets.
The hammer handles are made from the wood of the iconic oak tree from the movie.
which was originally reported felled in a lightning strike, but actually survived until a windstorm took it down.
…
There’s lots of redemption in “The Shawkennel Redemption.”
well, at least… lots of hope, and some sort of justice.
Dreams that come true, for some debatably worthy, but nonetheless sympathetic basset friends.
Some great acting, by a consummate pro, and a somewhat-younger, at that time relative newcomer.
Lots of digging… exciting to the basset members of the audience.
Mud, dirt, some violence… but … well… I won’t spoil it any farther.
Just see it. You’ll like it.
I posted something late yesterday, in reply to Dennis, when today’s page wasn’t quite up yet.
Some of you who didn’t see it might want to know:
You apparently have to be very careful now, when posting Fleetwood Mac videos.
…
The group performing yesterday’s rendition of “You Make Loving Fun” wasn’t them!
Look in the lower right corner, at the logo….
That was a current tribute band, called “Rumours of Fleetwood Mac.”
The woman “playing” Christine McVie is named Emily Gervers.
All the band members have nearly look-alike and sound-alike dopelgangers…. I have no idea how they could manage to find them.
https://rumoursoffleetwoodmac.com/the-band
Yikes!
….
The strange thing is I also found a different list of band members on another site, but it was older….
so maybe there are more alien doubles out there than we think, and the band sometimes replaces personnel.
Beware!
…
Btw I’ll never understand why I excellent musicians want to imitate another group instead of doing their own music.
I guess maybe it’s easier than making a name for yourselves, but that seems kind of sad.

Where does one end and the other begin?? So cute!

Love Stephound King. Still looking for a first edition Christine.
Good morning philm phanatics and Stel (haven’t seen a poster she couldn’t make better) Bel.
Used to have a cider mill near where I grew up in Vermont. The “Special” cider was kept in the back. Never really cared for mulled.
Y’all have a toasty close to your September.

Stephen King is a great storyteller. Almost had me believing in vampires after reading one book. And he sure didn’t do anything for a clown’s image.
Stevie King kinda changed my image of old hotels, 1958 Plymouth Fury’s, Gypsies, St. Bernards and brain-dead folks among others
Yes, Stephan King is good at taking something sweet and simple and giving you nightmares about it…… not that brain-dead folks are sweet and simple.
Those people in the picture are the kind I ‘love’ to hate!! They are probably all trumplicons.
some folks do make it kind of hard to love them
🙁
I love Morgan Freehound, and even Morgan Freeman, but never saw either movie.
Bad girl. I guess I have to expand my viewing habits.
It’s one you shouldn’t miss.
Excellent poster! Two paws up from me!
