I had to magnify it to about 200%, then I saw it. When I brought it back to 100%, then I could recognize it.

This is more of an eye test than a puzzle…

nothing to figure out, no mystery to “solve,” except whether you can see a tiny mark.

Well, my eyes are pretty bad… but

I may have found it…

Happy x3… is this what you saw?

comment image

It doesn’t really look like a “tuft”, to me, only a little extra dot…. but the only one I saw.

If any of you found anything more tuft-like, I’ll be happy to accept your “solution” instead.

BTW…

In case you can’t make it out…

It’s just a little dot on top of his head.

Here it is at something like 800% magnification (I can’t remember) ..

Too easy! I only had to blow it up to 400% and scan for half-an-hour! (And yeah, I got Saturdays ninth difference in only three days!)

FINDING THE DUCK
1.Begin at the bottom row left side.
2. The first yellow duck to the right is duck 1.
3 Count only yellow ducks, going up, to 7, and there you are.

Edited in two minutes later: I’m in agreement with Susan.

With all that smoke, I’d guess a bad modulator valve on the transmission if it was later model with an automatic. About $35 to fix when I was doing it, and the customer was soooo happy that it was so easy and relatively cheap. A win-win.

I don’t know WHAT is going on! Lately, I’ve been bursting out in loud guffaws without warning….something that is very much not like me! And, it just happened again for the second time in as many days! The visual image of getting the house up on a lift to check the transmission was hilarious….to me, at least. Thanks for the laugh…..and thanks to Nighthawks for posting that crazy picture!! I wonder if it had an original title….anyone?

And, thanks for ARFSIDE for starting us down that path!

The things one learns reading this comic. Thanks, nighthawks.
The list below is from my library’s website.

Polar Express / written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg. –
Jumanji / written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg.
Queen of the Falls / written by Chris Van Allsburg.
Two bad ants / Chris Van Allsburg. (Someone didn’t put the “and illustrated by” in, but he did)

There are 14 more of his book titles on its shelves.
I’ve got a hold to pick up at my local branch today:..

The Spider Tapestries
Seven Strange Stories
by Allen, Mike
Book – 2016

Part of the blurb:
“Mike Allen will infect your subconscious with hallucinatory and alarming delight. This book is a must-read for fans of weird fiction and dark fantasy.”

…and it happens to have a copy of “Two Bad Ants” in its stacks. I liked the blurb for it, so I’m picking that up too.

Edited in at 09:06 hrs. E.S.T.

This weirdness may be limited to Philadelphia, I don’t know; but what a  COFFEE !
partial sentence from Lisa Scottoline’s “Devil’s Corner” (which I’m reading right now; I’ve never read any of her non-fiction, but she’s never disappointed me with her fictional writing).

…by the time they’d started on their 184-ounce cups of coffee…

That’s 1 gallon 3 pints and 8 fluid ounces U.S.
I tried to google Philadelphia and 184 ounces, but nothing came up.
If this is a typographical error, it is literally the first one I’ve come across in one of her books (I’ve read at least 30).
I know she does her research.
Anybody else know of 184-ounce coffees?

Alexi:

Without more information in your comment, I would guess that it might have been an exaggerated way for the author to emphasize the vast amounts of coffee that “they” had started to drink….for whatever reason that was going on at the time. I did learn (and, you probably already know) that Devil’s Corner is an area located in Philadelphia.

Beyond that, I suspect it may have no other special reason than that.

But, hey……I’ve been known to be wrong, on the very rare occasion! Right, Susan? LOL

Ohhhh, please your majesty…

Am I supposed to agree with you, and say you’ve been wrong before, or disagree with you, and say you’ve never ever been wrong?

I know the truth doesn’t really matter in this situation….

So I’m awaiting further instructions.

This house is lit!

“Up” had a softer start – and then there’s this (which would be a great Cleo-poster):

I used that quotation mark symbol (whatever it’s called) to enlarge it like text.

When I first clicked “post comment”, it looked almost as large as Alexi’s…. so I thought it would be that way.

But when I came back and refreshed, it had shrunk.

He made it into a magnified .png, which I should have done.

It does show how emoticons differ on different platforms….. his image is captured, and doesn’t change to the WordPress or Firefox version (or whatever mine is, with dark hair and a green shirt).

I remember when the paper flipping Hallucigenia over came out. It was hotly debated over departmental coffee, even though to most of us the new interpretation was so much more reasonable than the old one.

But Claude… she’s NOT eating it, is she?

She’s already following your advice.

….

So you might want to amend it by saying “and don’t set it on fire, or attach it to an arrow, and shoot it at anything….

And while you’re at it, don’t drop it from a plane…

and don’t blow it up with TNT, or destroy it with a flamethrower, or a bazooka…

and don’t…..”

Um…. I’m beginning to see the problem with giving Cleo any succinct advice.

This came out in February 1984.
“We’re Not Gonna Take It” came out in April 1984.
I wasn’t looking for it, it just jumped out.
I think Twisted Sister used some of the choreography from “Eat It”.
I’ll leave you to find it because it’s high-time I started my day.

I loved the “Three French Hens” so much, I saved it into my files! Thanks for posting that! (Like my mom, I also like interesting depictions of hens and roosters…..and grapes, too!)

I meant to comment yesterday that the “Twelve Days of Christmas” song was a family favorite. I was always ‘5 Golden Rings’ (and my sister would always accuse me of hogging the spotlight), but my mother was known year-round as…..’TWO TURTLE DOVES‘!! Sweet memories!!
