When i was home from bus driving for lunch mom and i would watch cooking shows on the food channel.
One we watched was by the then current executive chef of that one.
He wasn’t there. He knew everyone at the restaurant. He made one statement about it and i never heard from him again.
I couldn’t handle being either of that couple, talking to each other across that drop… especially him, watching her sitting outside the window, not even holding on.
Every time she moved, I’d probably faint, or have a heart attack … at the very least I’d be shaking, transferring my fear of heights into terror for her sake, even if she isn’t afraid.
Please, you guys… Stand inside the windows.
Have you never heard of this handy device called a “phone”?
From front left corner, more or less clockwise… Matt Dillon with a cigarette, Ralph Macchio, Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, C. Thomas Howell, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, and Rob Lowe.
I recognized all but C. Thomas Howell, which is good because the only lists I found were all out of order… Hope I got it right!
Oh yeah… And
this is from
The Outsiders, which I’ve never seen, and been trying to remember to watch since these guys were that young.
Loosely the first of what became known as the brat pack movies in the 80s… though I don’t think that term was around yet when this one came out.
The brat pack label (which I think they mostly hated) was given to a whole group of young actors, male and female, who in various combinations starred, mostly playing teenagers coming of age, learning life lessons, etc.
Pretty in Pink, St Elmo’s Fire, The Breakfast Club, etc.
3 or 4 of the guys in this movie were sort of core brat pack members… plus others who were not in it.
Who’d be mean enough to put a big ol’ pinchy crab into a roomful of baby stars and balloons?? And whatever those round pink things and blue things are.
To be clear, you’re saying that you created this “News bulletin” to appear as if it might have been issued by a real news service? To what end? To demonstrate how easy it is to do?
It was an April Fool’s joke. I sent it to several people asking if they’d seen it, and if they were insured by triple A. Even the more cynical ones fell for it, and I had to reassure them that it was a joke. “Well played” was one of the comments after the reveal. Another threatened to use a cattle prod on me.
Looks like the update went as well as expected, site doesn’t work in any significant way yet. I had to reset my password, which I would think everyone will have to do because it’s a new system, and while I can (Sometimes) access my account, I haven’t yet been able to access any comics, or my comics page. Been getting random errors, and everything is horrendously slow. Hopefully they’ll manage to get the site up and stable in the next few hours.
It probably worked in their test environment, unfortunately the only way to see if the site will work in the wild is to upload it to the servers and allow the public access to the site.
The comics completely overscan the page… Instead of a comics page I get one or two panels at a time on my screen.
It’s great to get good resolution if i click one… But to have it as a constant means I have to scroll every strip, panel by panel, and can’t get an overview.
We appear to have no profile pages, and there are currently no comments. Maybe only a glitch (like everything they do) because their email did mention their “lively forums” or some such.
I’m glad i got onto my queue before they started. I got to reed them all before i started getting tat error message.
I’m also glad that i found that rabbithole earlier.
Doesn’t look much like a dinosaur, does it?
DUCK!
Rabbit!
‘Elmer Season!’
However did this gif ended it too soon.
The look on Elmers face is priceless.
I was only six yeas old, yet I remember it so clearly. There must have been a lot of documentaries…
.
I know the movie.
Okay, the second picture of actors I’ve never heard of from this movie I’ve never heard of…
Apparently based on real life events.

Fire in the Barnyard–Thomas Hart Benton

That family really had the bad breaks!
I hear that they finally moved to Chicago.
Or, was that San Francisco?
,,,
LLL-UUUU-CCC-YYYYYYYY ! ! ! !
Bunch’a hoodlums!
Even the guy who likes Mickey Mouse?
I recognized all but C. Thomas Howell, which is good because the only lists I found were all out of order… Hope I got it right!
Oh yeah… And
Another show I’ve never heard of!

…i mean, just look at the size of those paws.
,.,
It’s just a bunch of blobs tonight.
This morning, i think i got it!
Who’d be mean enough to put a big ol’ pinchy crab into a roomful of baby stars and balloons?? And whatever those round pink things and blue things are.
Even if
But don’t worry….
I trapped it
One of those baby stars has crabs? Time for a diaper change (at least!)
It took me a while to find it on my own. Now that I found it, I can’t unfind it.
Weird how that works.
…
Kid and Horse.
::
Outstanding!
I have been waiting a month and a half to wear it in public.
Hope the waiting was worth it.
I created this one, and it worked almost too well.

From today’s London “Daily Mail” (the first bit is from the “BORN ON THIS DAY” section).
I see the rollout of the new, improved GoComics is going as anticipated…
Yep.
I had to reset my password.
Navigating is a pita.
And all the comments are gone.
Uh oh… I haven’t checked yet.
Now I have a treat to anticipate.
Wait a bit — it seems to be differnt every time you access the site.
Wish I’d read this first.
I went straight over there.
I thought they weren’t accepting my password because it was too short, so I reset it.
Got the same message… Access blocked.
And I’ve been paying them for 14 years!

worst thing I have ever seen, why release something that doesn’t work, who do they think they are Bill Gates!
It probably worked in their test environment, unfortunately the only way to see if the site will work in the wild is to upload it to the servers and allow the public access to the site.
If that’s the only way to test the site then there’s something very, very wrong with the system…
Yes, there is. It seems happens to most revamped websites.
I can’t even reset my password. Says input verification code, but they don’t send one.
Me too.
They send you an email with it in.
They send you an email with it in.
this is what I just got after clicking on what only this morning got me to the site
wow….what exciting changes!
Same message I get.
No matter what I do.
I’d like to think it’s an April Fools joke.
They had to take the servers offline to upload the new site, I was getting that message after about midday UK time.
I hope that’s why there are no comments and no profile page, including responses you’ve gotten.
If those changes aren’t temporary, I have no reason to go there, much less pay my upcoming subscription.
I have made one comment and replied to another (both on Doonesbury, first strip in my queue.) God knows if they’re still there!
I discovered that if I can log in on whatever they call the page from which I can open my comics page…
I can then go to an old Ballard Street page I bookmarked long ago for Cleo, and I can see, and i think even make, comments.
But I don’t know how to get any on my new comics. I haven’t tried yet to navigate from that old Ballard Street, but it might be possible.
Oh, it’s a joke all right!
I just got on.
What a mess.

how, i certainly can’t
I had reset my password, and somehow it finally worked…
Why one attempt and not another, i have no idea.
As far as I know I’m still working from a new “Free seven day trial” with a new password and slightly changed username
Does that mean you’re not JP Steve there?
I’m glad i got onto my queue before they started. I got to reed them all before i started getting tat error message.

Any news yet anyone?
