I was only six yeas old, yet I remember it so clearly. There must have been a lot of documentaries…

I vaguely remember the title, but I’ve never seen the movie or heard of the actors…
Paul Dooley and Dennis Christopher in “Breaking Away.”
Apparently based on real life events.

When i was home from bus driving for lunch mom and i would watch cooking shows on the food channel.
One we watched was by the then current executive chef of that one.
He wasn’t there. He knew everyone at the restaurant. He made one statement about it and i never heard from him again.

I couldn’t handle being either of that couple, talking to each other across that drop… especially him, watching her sitting outside the window, not even holding on.

Every time she moved, I’d probably faint, or have a heart attack … at the very least I’d be shaking, transferring my fear of heights into terror for her sake, even if she isn’t afraid.

Please, you guys… Stand inside the windows.

Have you never heard of this handy device called a “phone”?

We have here….
From front left corner, more or less clockwise… Matt Dillon with a cigarette, Ralph Macchio, Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, C. Thomas Howell, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, and Rob Lowe.

I recognized all but C. Thomas Howell, which is good because the only lists I found were all out of order… Hope I got it right!

Oh yeah… And

this is from
The Outsiders, which I’ve never seen, and been trying to remember to watch since these guys were that young.

Loosely the first of what became known as the brat pack movies in the 80s… though I don’t think that term was around yet when this one came out.

The brat pack label (which I think they mostly hated) was given to a whole group of young actors, male and female, who in various combinations starred, mostly playing teenagers coming of age, learning life lessons, etc.

Pretty in Pink, St Elmo’s Fire, The Breakfast Club, etc.

3 or 4 of the guys in this movie were sort of core brat pack members… plus others who were not in it.

Who’d be mean enough to put a big ol’ pinchy crab into a roomful of baby stars and balloons?? And whatever those round pink things and blue things are.

Even if

hint…
it IS a cute baby crab in a diaper.

To be clear, you’re saying that you created this “News bulletin” to appear as if it might have been issued by a real news service? To what end? To demonstrate how easy it is to do?

I would think it was an “April Fools” joke.

It was an April Fool’s joke. I sent it to several people asking if they’d seen it, and if they were insured by triple A. Even the more cynical ones fell for it, and I had to reassure them that it was a joke. “Well played” was one of the comments after the reveal. Another threatened to use a cattle prod on me.

Wish I’d read this first.
I went straight over there.

I thought they weren’t accepting my password because it was too short, so I reset it.

Got the same message… Access blocked.
And I’ve been paying them for 14 years!

Looks like the update went as well as expected, site doesn’t work in any significant way yet. I had to reset my password, which I would think everyone will have to do because it’s a new system, and while I can (Sometimes) access my account, I haven’t yet been able to access any comics, or my comics page. Been getting random errors, and everything is horrendously slow. Hopefully they’ll manage to get the site up and stable in the next few hours.

worst thing I have ever seen, why release something that doesn’t work, who do they think they are Bill Gates!

It probably worked in their test environment, unfortunately the only way to see if the site will work in the wild is to upload it to the servers and allow the public access to the site.

If that’s the only way to test the site then there’s something very, very wrong with the system…

I hope that’s why there are no comments and no profile page, including responses you’ve gotten.

If those changes aren’t temporary, I have no reason to go there, much less pay my upcoming subscription.

I discovered that if I can log in on whatever they call the page from which I can open my comics page…

I can then go to an old Ballard Street page I bookmarked long ago for Cleo, and I can see, and i think even make, comments.

But I don’t know how to get any on my new comics. I haven’t tried yet to navigate from that old Ballard Street, but it might be possible.

I just got on.
What a mess.

The comics completely overscan the page… Instead of a comics page I get one or two panels at a time on my screen.

It’s great to get good resolution if i click one… But to have it as a constant means I have to scroll every strip, panel by panel, and can’t get an overview.

We appear to have no profile pages, and there are currently no comments. Maybe only a glitch (like everything they do) because their email did mention their “lively forums” or some such.
