or will he simply get fired?…depends on how the truck got away from him.
the USPS instructs their carriers to shut off the engine, put it in park and
lock the door when you have to leave the vehicle for a short time…..in the
real world that is bothersome, especially if you’re getting out of the vehicle
numerous times a day and the natural human thing is to say ‘screw that’ and
simply leave it running with the doors open, make your delivery and get going
again….
once when I was walking my basset Sam, a UPS driver(after Sam put his
two paws up on the step wanting to jump in), told me a story that happened to him.
He once delivered packages in a rural setting with miles between houses.
There was a home where there were two very friendly bassets that always greeted
him eagerly. Anyway, this one time he made his delivery there (he left the truck door
open) and drove to the next delivery……
It wasn’t until he was miles down the road when he felt something sniffing his
leg and looked down and there were the two bassets, happily enjoying the ride
and his company.
he laughed and said returning them set him back a lot that day
One of my favorite Cleo and Company adventures… I love Sam Basset!
…
I have to stop this! I’ll run out of exclamation points!
But honestly… this series deserves them.
Oh @#%$!! I’ll just order more in the morning.
I’d better get TWO boxes.. there’s a lot to “!!!” as it runs.
…
I hope no one will post any spoilers.
Some of us have forgotten parts of it, or perhaps just want to enjoy watching it unfold again….
and I believe we have some newer Cleophiles, and perhaps some casual visitors (aka soon-to-be-Cleophiles), who have never seen it before.
…
That said… a word of character explanation, without revealing any plot points…
might help those of us who were not big Sherpa readers, and don’t remember what now-mostly-missing strips a couple of these passengers were attached to.
I do know Grace, icon that she is of “Frog Applause”, which is NOT missing.
From yesterday.
I was 5′ 8″ (my doctor says I’m now 5′ 7″ / so my driver’s licence is wrong) and my weight before the ballooning was at 162 lbs. (still overweight but I lived with it).
All the weight charts I read to answer your question agree that 145 lbs. for a man 5′ 7″ is on the light-but-normal side of things, and having been 145 lbs. as a day to day weight to my mid-thirties, I know that’s a good weight for me; that’s why I’m aiming for it again (I hope my losses become steady instead of fluctuating as they have obviously done, but a loss is a loss, so I’ll take what comes).

First day as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Apprentice many, many, many moons ago. I was getting the tour of the 1st sub I was going to work on. In the torpedo room, turned to follow the leader out when I saw a red sign with silver lettering over the control board…

Murder on the Midnight Express ~~~ one of my very favorites!
Creedence Clearwater Revival ~~~ one of my very favorite groups!
That FedEx driver got really lucky ~~~ he could have been killed, the van could have hit a car coming down the street, the van could have hit that tree. Looks like damage to the door and maybe a little in the back end. Oh well, the dogs enjoyed it.
The door was open when it went by the tree and folded the door backwards. Then it looks like it stopped at the fence in between houses. Can’t tell if it hit the fence hard enough to do damage.
It would be interesting to know if he still has a job. Like Nighthawks said, they do have their rules and regulations.
The butler did it!
I remember this one, with a bunch of visitors from other strips, I think I remember the villain, but I will not tell.
And then we have CCR and the Beach Boys, both having fun making music.
Finally that poor FedEx driver – will he ever live this down?
And will he get a ticket for ignoring that stop sign?
or will he simply get fired?…depends on how the truck got away from him.

How funny!!
XD
I didn’t think it was running, because it’s going backward…
I thought he shut it off, but maybe didn’t put it all the way into Park, or set the brake, and it rolled down the slight slope.
That actually happened to my mother in law on their steep driveway…
He car rolled out of the (doorless) garage, down the hill, and across the street, smashing the neighbor’s mailbox.
…
What I wondered was what happened when this truck finally came to a stop.
It was slowing down, presumably from the friction caused by various surfaces and obstacles.
You can’t tell in this video whether it rolled to a stop in what looked like someone’s driveway, or smashed into the garage…
And whether it was damaged, and especially whether the diver was hurt.
…
I was hoping to see it start up and drive away.
If that happened, and he never reported the incident… was he fired a year later when his supervisor saw this video on YouTube?!
ooooooooo, i love Sam Basset! i also love murder mysteries! bring it on. i’ll change my mind as to ‘who done it’ every chance i get!
The return of Sam Bassett! This time he rides the rails. Sam just can’t escape from danger and intrigue. They seek him out wherever he goes.
Yahoo! It’s starting again!

I remember this too.
I’m wondering if Sam will finally notice the dis- and re- appearing of the train’s cars and solve that mystery too.

In re: the FedEx van…. How could you see that!
I just posted in reply to Nighthawks that I was wondering whether it was damaged!
